Unsteady murmurs rippled through the growing crowd in the center of Stormwind, word had spread that a group of High Elf refugees would be arriving and within that group, a very important figure. No one knew who the person was, or why they were important but behind all gossip proved to be a shred of truth. This rumor was no exception.

Guards began to push people back, creating a path through the crowd of skeptical citizens that would lead through the Trade District of Stormwind, through the Canals and to the Keep. Where the King would greet the refugees.

"Move out of the way, clear out. This business is none of yours" Guards pushed back my crowd of people and although we were packed together and it was almost impossible to see anything, I craned my neck and stood on my toes just in time to see the group. It was nearly impossible to make out the important one of the group. There was a tall man leading the group, with shoulder length blonde hair and piercing sapphire colored eyes. Followed by a mix of elves, all High Elf no doubt, their glowing eyes gave them away. But some were shorter than others, some taller. Some had brownish hair, some had snow white.

The one that caught me however though was a small girl, she was certainly no child. She looked about my age, probably 17 or 18. In Elf years though that could be hundreds of years I knew that much at least. She was dressed in similar clothing like the other refugees but carried a much different grace to herself, trailing behind her, even holding onto her dress were a few small children. She looked around and thats when I noticed her eyes were different.

They still glowed and shimmered with the same intensity, but her eyes were a light violet color and got darker torwards the edges.

People whispered about the strange girl, who seemed to catch not only my attention but everyone elses as well. I shouldered my way through the crowd to see her but I was too late she'd already walked past and into the tunnel that lead to the Canals. People began to disperse, some nosey citizens trailed behind the group keeping their distance as if that could hide their motives. Others just shrugged it off, figuring that the Elves would be kept seperate from the other denziens of Stormwind and returned to their work.

I went about my business but all throughout the day I couldn't stop myself from letting my mind wonder to the High Elf girl again. She seemed so, aloof and sure of herself. I needed to find more about her.

I retired that night, my mind racing thoughts of where the refugees were staying, if they were okay and if I'd get to see her.

I slept restlessly that night, haunted completed by those purple eyes and what tales they held behind them, but I suppose that was for another day.
