AN: Heya! This is my second attempt at a Yasha fic, and my first at re-writing an ending to an eppie. I don't see a whole lot about Shippo, and while he's not my most favorite character, this just sorta popped in my head without me really knowing, so here ya go.

Spoiler: The Stone Flower and Shippo's First Love

Disclaimer: I can only dream of owning Yasha.

(picks up where Shippo is fighting the demon-I don't even remember the other demon's name, so bear with me; this one isn't on tape.)

/Why? Why can't I help and fight like all my friends? I deserve to help protect those I care about! These stupid little tricks mean nothing. Nothing.../ Shippo's thoughts faded as his eyes became dark. A rough wind rippled the tall grass, and he rose from the ground, but no longer recognizable as Shippo. He would tower over even Inuyasha, his claws and fangs sharpening and gleaming as a demonic aura surrounded him. His fur grew long and black, a long bushy tail swishing behind him. He looked up with red eyes and growled.

"You have struck me down for the last time you inferior demon!" His voice was naught but a terrible, low rumble, frightening at the least. He charged the lizard, yelling while he leaped.

"Fox Claw!" He swung a mighty paw down on his poor foe. It ripped through the lesser demon easily, and it returned to its puny, diminutive reptile form. 'Shippo' chuckled as he brought a paw down its tail, preventing escape.

"You toyed with the wrong fox today." He spat at the tiny thing before turning an ear back. Sango, Miroku, Kagome and Inuyasha came running up, rustling the reeds. Kagome and Sango hopped off of Kirara's back, all their mouths slightly open and eyes popping out of their heads.

"Shippo?" Kagome asked, a hand rising to her mouth. He turned to the group, his evil smile telling more than words could as he kicked the lowly demon aside. Shippo rose from all fours and stood on his hind legs, proving his height and size to be superior.

"I believe I like being powerful." With a haughty and contemptuous 'humph' that was uncharacteristic of Shippo, he dropped back down to all his paws, and only Kirara approached warily, unsure of her old friend. She sniffed the unfamiliar form, but received only that very familiar smell. She concluded that it must be Shippo, thinking that maybe he possed a power like she to change shape, and promptly licked him on the nose. The demon's eyes widened and abruptly a cloud of smoke similar to that which his tricks used poofed around him. In a moment it had dissipated and their little Shippo had returned, though he lay unconscious and seemed thoroughly worn out.

"Wow. I had no idea Shippo could do that," Sango remarked, watching Kirara nose his unmoving body in confusion.

"Neither did I," said Miroku, kneeling down to their sleeping friend. Inuyasha just snorted, crossing his arms and turning up his nose, closing his eyes.

"He's just copying me and my transformations. It was probably just luck anywayyyy! OW!" He exclaimed, his voice rising before rubbing the back of his head. "What did you go and do that for" Kagome at hit the back of his head with her backpack, an eyebrow twitching.

"Can't you see that Shippo might have powers that we don't understand?" Her aggression changed to a look of compassion as she gazed at her small friend. "He's never been able to fight before. This is the first time he took on an enemy and won. We ought to be proud of him." All the while the small fox demon slumbered, not knowing anything other than sleep.

AN: Well? Whaddya think? Let me know if there's anything wrong, criticism/flames are accepted, because they are reviews all the same. Thanks.
