Daine stood as calmly and coolly as she could as she watched all of the delegates walk off the ship. Then slowly the group of Tortallans, who had been in Carthak and other countries for the past year, walked off. There were scholars, now on the beach, from most of the countries known to mortals. 50 mages from the university of Carthak. 10 mages and scholars from the University of Tyra. 15 scholars from the University of Maren. Then the last 25 mages and scholars were from the University of Drell, which is both Gallan and Scanran. Then the high ambassador to the Copper Isles was there because of there being no major university on any of the isles.

Daine couldn't believe she had juts spent the last year with out any word from or about Numair. None of the people that were on the expedition were aloud to send or receive letters. Daine on the other hand encored that rule and send Numair a letter once a week. She wished Jon would shut up already. He had already been talking for five minutes now. How long could it take to say hello and welcome to Corus? Numair was apparently thinking the same thing. He shot Jon a nasty look and Jon sped up his speech a bit. Daine tried not to laugh as Numair smirked in amusement. Daine played with her ring behind her back. Engaged for the past year and two months was enough for her. She was soon going to be 19 and she just couldn't wait to marry Numair and go back to a normal life.

With Jon finally done the delegation walked back to the ballroom in the castle. Numair grabbed her hand as soon as she got close. Daine giggled and aloud Numair to hold her back. When every one was gone Numair pulled her into a tight embrace. Daine let Numair hold her up as she took a deep breathe of the sent of his black mage robe. She smiled mentally as she realized this was the first time in a long time when they were together and Numair was wearing the robe and not her.

'Being away from you for a year makes me want to marry you even more magelet.' Numair whispered to her.

'Good, that's what I was thinking too.' Daine smiled up at him and gave a small tug of his robe. Numair took it off and wrapped it around her shoulders.

'Do we have to wait another month?' Numair complained gently.

'If you don't want to be on Ma's, Alanna's, and Thayet's bad side.' Daine reminded him.

'Did you have any say in our wedding?' Numair laughed.

'Most. Alanna and Thayet about killed each other over a dress before they realized I had already picked one out.'

Numair laughed and pulled her back into his arms.

'How about I find a time speeding spell?' Numair whispered as he broke their kiss.

'Wonderful.' Daine agreed smiling.
