AN: Heya again! Second attempt at a Yasha rewrite-ending! This one also came to me after watching the eppie and I don't know a whole lot about Inuyasha so be nice, please.

Spoiler: The Demon's True Form.

Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha. I don't own a car. I don't own my own home. I don't own a lot of things. I'm poor. You want to sue? See what you get. A TV, some tapes, and pocket change. That's about it.

Inuyasha scrubbed himself all over, becoming frustrated as he could still feel and smell the human blood on his hands, though it was long since washed away. He growled and waded to the bank, crawling out of the river and plopping himself down after a rough shaking off of water.

/Why? Why can't I remember? I don't want to become this as a demon. It's no good if I can't control my power, and know what I'm doing.../ his teeth clenched tightly, and his fist hit the ground as his thoughts churned. Kagome padded quietly up, kneeling beside him. She put in front of her a few wet cloths and dry bandages.

"Inuyasha, you shouldn't be moving around so much. You need to rest. Here, let me help." She put a hand on his shoulder, but he shifted angrily out of her reach.

"I don't need your help Kagome. Leave me alone" Kagome paused, about to comply, but frowned and shook her head.

"No."

"Why do you have to be so" He was about to start one of their yelling matches when he was suddenly cut off by Kagome's soft and tender voice.

"Be still Inuyasha." Though this didn't have the spelled power of 'Sit boy!', he did stay still as she reached over and her fingers deftly moved over the ties of his kimono (I know that's not the name of what he wears, right? What is it?) which fell away in the work of a moment. She gasped slightly, seeing his chest covered in wounds. She slowly and gently cleaned each one in silence.

"Kagome" he murmured, staring at her while she worked. /One day, I could come after you/ he looked at his hands, /with these very claws./ When Inuyasha woke from his thoughts, Kagome was nearly finished bandaging him. He silently slipped back into his clothes and continued to sit Indian-style. Kagome wondered how he did it all sometimes. Sure, he was half demon. But that meant he was half human too. She scooted closer, and rested her head on his shoulder, getting a rather surprised 'Huh?' from Inuyasha. He sighed and reached over, taking her hand which had fallen on his knee in his own lightly.

"Kagome, you don't have to stay with me, you know."

"Yeah, I do." The sincerity in her voice stabbed his heart like a knife.

/I owe my self, my life to Kikyo, but Kagome is with me where ever I go, asking nothing in return./ He thought about home much it must hurt her, and was amazed by what it must take to still stand by him. /She is far stronger than me...Kagome.../ Her name echoed in his mind as they sat together in silence.
