We, the Sparky Army, decree 2008 to be the Year of the Spark. We pledge to post a new sparky story or chapter of a sparky story every day from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008. Though the Powers that Be have removed Elizabeth Weir from the regular cast of Stargate Atlantis, we feel that she remains an integral part of the show, and that the relationship between her and John Sheppard is too obvious to be ignored. We hope that you, and anyone might happen to read these works, agree. And if that isn't official enough for you, we don't know what is. Seriously, guys, we're just trying to have some fun--and show TPTB that Sparky is the way to go. So sit back and enjoy the 366 stories coming your way! Dear Readers,
Here is the second poem, companion to my April 30th one. This one is from John's perspective. Personally, I don't think it's as good as Liz's, but I hope you like it anyway. Thanks!
Best regards from a Bookworm (and SGA SPARKY! fan),

When Stars Bleed (Part II)
One Star,
Twinkling brightly against the stark black of night.
Folds of silver glitter
Pulsating within themselves
And endless cycle of glowing blood
Pumping forth
To illuminate the spark of His Heart.
His eye catches the Star
As its Light undulates like the blood in his veins.
Blood that runs to fuel an ache,
An ache so raw, though She has been gone so long
A Love unquenchable
A Love that bleeds with Time.
And although there is silence
Save for the beating of His Loss within him
He can suddenly feel and hear
Another pulse alongside his,
Slowly leaking, slowly dying, spiraling into death.
He can hear the Whisper
Radiating from the Star
Her Breath like a wisp of the wind, like a trickle of blood
Trailing past him, daring to be caught.
He reaches out to grab
What can no longer be grasped
To hold what has slipped away into pain.
Her pain, mingled with his, bleeding endlessly
And wrapped among the trappings of fate and guilt.
A Wish fulfilled, but a Dream still shattered.
