First Fan fiction so updates will be somewhat slow, and short, at least until I get a method down, enjoy!
Prologue
I don't own Halo
I rushed towards the Composer, the energy barrier was finally down, and I could finally put a stop to the Didact's plan. I stopped, hearing the Didact's taunts, "come, warrior, have your resolution." Turning around I leveled my weapon and fired at the Didact, to no effect. He knocked me over with his gravity manipulation, knocking the nuke from its place on my back, I reached for it, hoping I could activate it and end him, and hopefully the Composer as well. My efforts were stopped however, as that same ability stopped me, when I was almost able to grab the nuke, he removed his helmet, showing the face of a once proud warrior, to this abomination in his place.
He taunted me, but I didn't hear what was said, as I was too busy trying not not voice the pain I felt from the constriction that was crushing my suit, and me as well. But I was saved, by the AI that had a fought through so much for, she restrained him and I had almost fallen to my doom, but my luck held, if just, as I was barely able to grab a hold of the hard light bridge. I pulled myself up, straining my already horribly pained muscles, I staggered, bringing myself upright, seeing the Didact restrained gave me a choice, one I made quickly while I still had time.
Limping towards the nuke, I thought over my life, being kidnapped for the Spartan 2, the augmentations, the Covenant, the MJOLNIR, losing Sam, the war, Losing Reach, as well as most of my remaining brothers and sisters, Halo, choosing to spare Johnson from ONI's wrath, the Prophet of Regret arriving at Earth, Delta Halo, meeting the Gravemind, going to High Charity, leaving Cortana behind, landing on Earth, fighting beside the Arbiter, Cortana's message, the Ark, the replacement Halo, losing Johnson to a betrayal by Guilty Spark, going into cryo, and awakening at Requiem. It flashed through my mind over and over like a broken projector. Picking up the nuke, I armed it, only to hear the Didact release a shout as he broke free of the restraints Cortana put him in, turning around, I was tackled by him, and dropped the nuke. As we fell, I looked up, to see a human sized Cortana give me a sad smile, nuke in hand, and I fell into the slipspace rupture, watching Cortana detonate the nuke, as all went black.
