Short Story: IF PERCY DIED IN THE BLOOD OF OLYMPUS…

After the battle against the last giant, Nico had arrived to the city and went looking for Percy. The son of Poseidon was nowhere to be seen in the half destroyed city as Nico became more increasingly worried. "Damn… Where is he?" He had murmured as he found the Sea Prince… and his heart had stopped in shock and horror.

Percy had laid flat on his back looking towards the heavens. He had deep wounds on his legs and stomach, blood pouring out of each of them. His hair looked less black but more of a dark grey from the rain of ash on the fallen city. The son of Poseidon had probrably had inhaled too much ash as well, as he was gasping for air. You could even smell his left arm burning like a barbeque. Seeing this, Nico ran towards his cousin's side, feeling his eyes watering up from the emotional pain.

"PERCY!" Nico called as he knelt by him and looked down at the heroic demigod with sorrow clearly in his eyes. "Please be okay… Please…" The Son of Hades muttered as Percy looked at him, smiling softly. He didn't fear death like most but he needed to tell him something before he began his journey to the land of the dead.

"I don't think I am going to be, Death Boy but please… Take care of the Camp and especially Annabeth. They need you the most right now…" Percy coughed out blood all over himself and Nico before he let out a relaxed sigh. The loss of oxygen was really getting to him. "Nico, you are one of the best friends any demigod could ever have. Ever since we met, I always felt some kind of connection with you… Take Riptide, you need it more than I do." Percy smiled as Nico had tears now running down his face as he picked up the Celestial Bronze weapon. "Perse… Can I tell you something?" Nico asked as Percy let out an even brighter smile. "Yeah… Sure, go ahead."

"I never told you this seaweed brain but… I love you. I always ha-…" Nico would feel a finger on his lips as Percy gazed up at him. "I know…" Percy suddenly put down his arm as his world turned white, still smiling. He had breathed his last. That joyful personality, his corny jokes, his friend and his crush were now gone.

Nico had gasped and shook his body in desperation, hoping he hadn't left them. No response. He realized his hero had passed on as the Son of Hades' body shook.

"No… NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Nico had punched the ground in wrath for what had been taken away from him, cracking it. While shaking, he had embraced Percy's body for what felt like hours into the city and called out in an echo.
