Prologue

Sometimes it seemed like everyone in Lawrence, Kansas knew of the name Dean Winchester. When one heard the name Dean Winchester, they would think of a handsome young man. A humorous, strong, unmarried man. There was only one problem to Dean Winchester, and it wasn't even about him. It was his older brother, Sam Winchester.

Sam could be rude, stubborn, and just was a pain to be around. And usually that wouldn't be too much of a problem, except for one little thing. Their father, John, would not allow anyone to marry Dean until Sam was married. And nobody was interested in marrying somebody like Sam.

That is, until, Castiel and Gabriel moved to Kansas.

Castiel and Gabriel were brothers, and had decided to rent an apartment together. They had moved because Castiel had finally told their father that he was gay. Their father was not too happy, to say in the least. Cas had decided to move away from their father, and Gabriel had decided to tag along to support his little brother.

One night, Gabriel was sitting on the couch, watching a soap opera. With a loud bang, Castiel burst into their apartment. Gabriel jumped in his seat, dropping the piece of pizza he was holding.

"Gabriel," Castiel announced, "I have met the love of my life today."

Picking up the piece of pizza, Gabriel made himself comfortable again and asked, "Okay... And who is this very special person?"

Castiel sat down on the couch next to his brother. "Dean Winchester." Castiel answered.

Because he was still new to the town, Gabriel had still not heard of Dean. "Mhmm. And how did you meet this man?"

"I was working, at the library. And he just came in. We started talking about books," Gabriel rolled his eyes at this, "And there was something... About him. He was handsome, smart, funny, just... Everything."

Gabriel smiled at his brother, happy for him. It really was sweet to see his little brother so excited. "So did you get his number? Are you going to see him again?"

Castiel eyebrows furrowed, and suddenly he looked much sadder. "No... He said he came often to the library, so I'll probably see him again. But I can't really... Date him. He has an older brother, Sam. And his dad doesn't want Dean dating anyone until Sam gets married.

"Really? Why would he want that?"

"I dunno... But evidentially nobody will marry Sam. I talked to one of my co-workers about it, and she said that it's because Sam's... Unagreeable."

Gabriel snorted, "Why should that be a problem? Surely somebody would marry that bastard." When Castiel shook his head, Gabriel continued, "That's a load of crap! Why does Dean go along with what his father says?!" Cas just shrugged, and Gabe's heart broke at the sight of his brother looking so sad. "You know what? I'll marry this Sam boy for you. Then you could have Dean all for yourself!"

Surprised, Castiel was quiet for a moment. "Y-you would do that?" Castiel stuttered, "You would do that for me?"

Gabriel nodded.

"Gabriel... Are you even gay?"

"How about we say I don't really care? And besides, if it's for my little bro, I'd marry anybody."

"A-are you sure? Marriage is a pretty big deal, Gabriel. How do you know you'll be able to put up with this Sam?"

"Are you seriously doubting me, Castiel? I can do anything!" Sobering up for a moment, Gabriel added, "Though if I do do this, I do want you to promise me one thing."

"What?"

"By the time I marry this Sam, I want you to have wooed this Dean and be ready to marry him too."

Castiel nodded enthusiastically. "I promise!" He said with all seriousness.

Gabriel smiled, "Good." Stretching, he stood up. "I better go to bed. Tomorrow I have a lot of stalking to do on this Winchester family."
