I sat on my bed and sighed. Another day where the perfect chance came and went more times then I could count but I never took it.

I frowned as I pulled the photograph out of my nightstand drawer and looked at it. "Why can't I say the words when the time comes," I asked the picture?

"What words," a voice asked from my doorway?

I quickly shut the picture in my nightstand before I turned to face my friend and love interest. "Hi Axel," I said nervously.

"Who can't you say what to," Axel questioned?

"I have my heart set on someone but I can't tell him how I feel," I told him.

He sighed before he walked in to my room and sat on my bed next to me. He put an arm around my shoulder and said "We don't have hearts and we don't feel."

"That can't be true. I get pains in my chest when I hear that. If I didn't have a heart it wouldn't hurt when I get told that," I protested.

He said nothing for a few seconds before he took his arm off my shoulder. He leaned over me and reached in to my nightstand. I could do nothing but watch as he pulled out the photograph of us.

He looked at it for a few seconds before he put it back in the drawer. I suddenly felt like crying. I could feel my body beginning to shake but the tears didn't fall.

"Are you okay," he asked me softly?

"I don't care if we don't have hearts and I've just tricked myself in to believing I have feelings. I don't care what the reasoning behind it is and I frankly don't give a damn. All I know is I need you," I told him.

He put his hands on my shoulders and put a hand on each of my shoulders. His eyes met mine and he said "I don't want to hurt you."

I let myself laugh a hollow, humorless laugh and said "If we don't have hearts how can you hurt me?"

"You've got a point," he said.

I grabbed him by the shoulders and pulled him down on me. I met his lips with my own and kissed him deeply.

I slid my tongue along his bottom lip and felt him open his mouth slightly. I could taste a familiar taste in his mouth and broke off the kiss to glare at him.

"You ate my last ice cream," I scolded him. He just stared at me in surprise. I looked at him and asked "Nothing to say?"

He opened his mouth a few times silently before he finally managed to say "My chest feels funny."

"We do have hearts. At least me and you have hearts. I love you, Axel. Do you love me," I asked him?

He said nothing. He just stared in to my eyes for a few seconds before he put his arms around me and gave me a small nod.

"I want to hear the words from your mouth," I told him firmly but gently.

He brought his face close to my ear before he said "I love you too, Roxas."
