Dedication: Dedicated to Jessica, also known as yaoichick on LJ. I wasn't sure what you would like, so I decided to try my hand at a pairing I'm not even that fond of. I'm actually pretty pleased with the result. I hope you like it as well.
Disclaimer: I do not own Fire Emblem or related trademarks.
Pairing: Harr x Makalov
Lazy Days Under The Sun
The sun was at the highest point in the sky when Makalov had completely emptied his purse of all his coins. After begging the gamekeeper to loan him some money in advance, and failing, the Begnion knight decided to go track down someone at the camp who would give him a small cash advance.
He began by trying to locate his sister with whom he felt he would have the best luck. However upon being unable to find her in his direct vicinity he strode across the camp asking all those he saw. Asking Kieran threw the Crimean soldier into a long and ardent monologue about the evils of gambling, and some other poppycock which did not interest Makalov in the slightest, so he apologized in the most insincere way before hurrying on his way to escape the exuberant knight and his moral ovations.
Deciding it was best to ignore Tanith, whom looked like a very angry individual, he found himself passing Astrid's tent without so much of an urge to beg for her money. Shame washed over him for a moment when he remembered trying to sell her beloved possession not that long ago. Forcing the thoughts out of his mind he came upon a tree, and at it's base, a sleeping Haar.
Makalov looked over his shoulder and realized he had walked through the entire camp, and that the game tent was no longer even visible. With an irritated sigh, Makalov stepped closer to Haar and cleared his throat. "Ahem."
Haar's only visible eye remained closed and he snored softly in response. Makalov furrowed his brows and cleared his throat again. "Haar." He said calmly, and when he received no response he stomped his foot angrily. "Haar!" He shouted. "HEY HAAR!!!!"
The wyvern lord remained dozing, his chest rising and falling with every breath. Makalov yawned. "Hey, wake up!" he said. Haar responded with a snore. Running a hand through his messy pink hair, Makalov felt a strange fatigue run over his body. He studied Haar and realized that the man looked awfully comfortable on the ground.
Deciding Haar would probably be his best bet for money, Makalov laid down beside him. He would wait for Haar to wake up, no need to hurry. He'd be able to catch a nap while he was at it. With one quick look to make sure Marcia wasn't anywhere in sight, for surely she'd accuse him of some wrong doing and whack him with her spear, he closed his eyes, yawned, and drifted off to sleep.
Less than an hour later Haar stirred suddenly, opening his eye and blinking blearily. He had been having a wonderful dream, and while he couldn't exactly remember what it was about, he sure didn't mind returning to it. An unfamiliar weight at his side garnered his attention though, and he was somewhat surprised to see Makalov lying against him, his face pressed against Haar's arm.
The Begnion knight snored softly, occasionally smacking his lips
in sleep and murmuring strange things such as "Mmm…zzzz….I need
money please…zzz…"
Haar raised his eyebrow in confusion but
then shrugged and settled back down. A second later and his snores
joined with Makalov's filling the air.
