I walked through the cobblestone pavement in Elysium, watching the bubbly clouds as they passed. I do not know how, but I had a feeling Charlie was nearby.
I was lucky I was in Elysium. Lord Hades had done the Hunters and me a huge favor by allowing us into this place. They deserved it more than I did.
Elysium was so pretty, with roses that smelt like Camp Half-Blood's strawberries. I caught my reflection in a passing stream, and frowned. In the past, looking at myself brought on a sense of pride knowing that I was a daughter of Aphrodite. This time, my reflection only mocked me, as if saying, " This is what the traitor looks like." I swallowed an onset of tears, knowing that Charlie was near. He would make everything better.
I walked past a dribbling waterfall which was radiating the calming sent of aloe and lilac petals. Being a demigod, I could easily name different smells with my heightened senses.
As I walked on, I could smell a familiar scent- a mixture of sun and clay from Camp Half-Blood's storage room. I was not prepared. I felt so ashamed. I had made the obvious wrong choice. I had turned away from him.
That last thought brought a swell of tears. I widened my eyes and saw a figure, about forty feet away from me. It was Charlie. Standing with the sun on his skin, shining like a god himself. We walked towards each other, him, with a crazy smile on his handsome face, me, in shock. We stopped in front of each other in a comfortable silence.
"I knew you would come," Charlie said, donning a relaxed smile, "your mom came with the message 'this is just like Halcyone and Ceyx, you'll find each other.' I had to trust her."
"I am so sorry, I should have never-" I was instantly hushed by a summer-tanned index finger on my lips.
"I love you. That was the past. Let's live out the future." Charlie raised my head, so our eyes were at the same level.
I was comforted by the chocolate-colored eyes that soothed me. And so I kissed him, bringing back memories of midnight walks in the fields, and daytime strolls near the beach. This kiss, however, was different. It had a hint of betrayal, a hint of sadness, and a hint of loneliness. But somewhere in between those nuances of despair, it was flushed with love and trust. I couldn't but help think that this was the best of them all.

Small author's note: Halcyone and Ceyx were a couple that found each other even after death. That concept was what Aphrodite was referring to.
