Just something I wrote for my friend Kylie for her sixteenth birthday. Apply it however you want. Something made me want to post this in the iCarly section. You can pick your own characters and all since it's not really about any of them. Not one of my best, but whatever. Please R&R!

You're fifteen years old and you believe in love, and happiness, and miracles.
You believe in fairytale endings with Prince Charming and the most magical kiss the world has ever known.
And that is why the first time you see him,
You're blown away.
He's tall and handsome,
He can make you laugh
And he makes your knees go weak at the sound of his voice.
It'd been the first time you'd ever felt quite like this,
And something,
Something had just told you:
This was right.
But as right as it feels, nothing changes.
He's still your friend; you're still his.
Things might be different if you let your true feelings show.
You know that.
But the fear of striking out keeps you from the game,
And you go on living in that delicate balance between friends and more,
Keeping your feelings quiet and tucked away, where no one can ever find them.
You're not entirely sure what causes you to change your mind,
But one day you find yourself confessing your true feelings to the boy whom
You swore you'd never tell.
And you hold your breath as you wait for a reply, praying that he doesn't break your heart.
And he doesn't.
But he tells you that he doesn't feel the same, and that it won't work.
You wait for ground-breaking pain, but it doesn't come.
You find it to be more of a dull ache, like your heart has been bruised, but not broken.
No, not broken.
You try to look at this as a learning experience, a chance to recognize mistakes.
Little did you know that your heart would break later.
He changed his mind on a cold, snowy winter day.
He asked for a second chance, an opportunity.
Maybe you should've known better; maybe you couldn't have.
Either way, you said yes.
And now you felt like you'd always wanted to.
You were euphoric, ecstatic, exhilarated.
Your heart felt happy.
You realized then that he had to have been your Prince;
That this was your fairytale, and that your magic kiss couldn't be far away.
Maybe it was because you were feeling so high up that you fell so hard.
When he changed his mind the second time, the ground-breaking pain you'd been waiting for finally came.
He told you he'd rushed into things; he'd been careless; and that he took it all back.
The dull ache did not return, but a stabbing pain introduced itself.
And for the very first time, your heart began to break.
Your friends were there for you, of course.
They threatened to hurt him like he'd hurt you; or just to be a steady shoulder.
But that didn't make everything just go away; nothing could.
Despite all the pain and heart break, you recovered.
Surprisingly easily, too.
You were stronger than was to be expected.
You began to move on, though you knew it wouldn't be easy.
Closure comes closer and closer every day.
You're Prince Charming turned out to be someone else;
A bit of a loser in aluminum foil.
You're sixteen now, and you've learned from past mistakes.
You still believe in love, and happiness, and miracles.
You still believe in Prince Charming, though he may not be perfect,
And the most magical kiss your heart has ever known.
You still believe that your fairytale is out there, just waiting to happen
And although it may not involve white horses and castles and fairies,
It can still be a fairytale in your eyes.
You still believe in all of these, and that you'll one day find them.
But now you'll know just a little better
Exactly where to look.
