Full Summary:

Can Olivia keep Licata Sanchez alive after their apartment building collapses on top of them?

The Day Before That Horrible Day:

Licata Sanchez:

Licata Sanchez had been at Detective Benson's house. She was always there; she even had her own key. Olivia had been paying her to clean her house every week. But for some reason, Licata seemed to make herself right at home. One time, Olivia & her co-workers had come into the apartment to find her asleep on the couch. Licata hadn't meant to fall asleep, it just sort of happened that way. The Detectives found out that her mother was a drug addict and that her father was never around. The only reason they could afford an apartment like Olivia's was because Licata, at the age of fourteen, had gotten a job at a local Diner. Olivia had made her tell her how long she'd been making herself at home while she was at work & Licata had told her since the day the key was given to her. She couldn't stand staying in her own apartment. CPS had been called and Olivia had been given temporary custody of Licata, her mother had been thrown in jail. Now all Licata had to do was go to school, work and back to the apartment. Olivia had given her four rules to live by:

Stay within contact distance.

Never go anywhere without calling the station first & letting the Detectives know where you were going.

Never go see your mother without at least one of the Detectives present or your Social Worker.

If you are staying late at school or work, make sure to call and tell someone at the Squad Room and the message would be relayed.

Licata could live by those rules. Her boss had given her a raise and Olivia was still paying her to clean the house, only now, not as much as she used to. Olivia would be getting up soon and since it was both of their days off and Licata didn't have school, they had planned on ordering in some food, ordering some movies from Pay-Per View and just lounging for the day. It was a time for Olivia to get to know Licata better. It was a time for Licata to get to know Olivia better. Fortunately for Licata, because there wasn't enough room in her new room, most of her stuff was over at Elliot's house, in boxes, under the stairs. Mrs. Stabler and the kids didn't seem to mind and Licata could go over anytime, after the rules were followed and pick out what she wanted, then wait with Maureen or Mrs. Stabler until either Olivia came over and got her or Elliot took her back to Olivia's.

The Detectives had treated her with respect after getting to know her better. Olivia had always treated her with respect. She had been up, watching TV in the living room for nearly an hour when Olivia got up. Licata had always been an early bird. When Olivia had to be into work early, and Licata didn't have to be to school until late, they would drive into the city together. It wasn't necessary, but Licata liked getting up early and riding into work with Olivia. She had this knack about getting to school early or on time. Olivia had admired her for her the way she lived and might always live.

Another thing Licata loved to do was: Ballroom Dancing. She had taught herself after listening to Mediterranean Music on the radio. She seemed to love to dance around the house, when she nobody was watching. Olivia had set up a camera in the living room to see what Licata could do and then had taken it to work and played the tape back. That's how Licata was chosen for a Dance Program at a local Art School. She got a full ride scholarship and the Detectives often stopped by the dance hall to see how she was doing.

But could she survive the unbelievable? Could Olivia & Licata survive together when the worse thing that could happen happens?
