Farewell
Silence filled the whole room as everyone stared at the pearl-colored casket, weeping silently.
"I never thought this would happen," Yanagi silently muttered to himself.
Akaya didn't speak at all. No one thought that he would be this quiet.
"Is there something wrong, Akaya?" Jackal worriedly asked. The answer to that was quite obvious, but nonetheless, the boy answered, "It's nothing."
"Nothing feels right," Marui said, quietly.
Tiny droplets of waterfell from the Sanada's eyes.
Yanagi looked at Sanada's direction. "Are you crying, Genichirou?"
Sanada didn't answer.
"It's hard losing Yukimura."
Yanagi patted his back, trying to comfort him.
They both browsed the whole room. Everyone had their heads bent down.
Niou had a confused look on his face. "I never thought you would be the one comforting me, Yagyuu."
"Don't mention it."
As the service ended, they all stood up by the casket to bid their last farewell to their beloved buchou.
Akaya, Marui and Niou touched the glass altogether, sobbing quietly. Jackal and Yagyuu stood behind them, comforting the three.
Sanada walked up to Yukimura's casket. A small tear fell on the glass. He felt as though Yukimura had smiled at him.
"It's alright to cry, Genichirou. If you don't let it out, it'll just leave a burden in your heart," Yanagi told him.
Outside
The wind was cold. After all, it was spring. The cherry blossoms beautifully fell from the trees. It was a calm sight.
Sanada felt a gust of wind. He felt as though Yukimura's presence was there. He looked around, only to find his own shadow.
"Sanada…" he heard Yukimura whisper in his ear.
He stopped in his footsteps. "Yukimura?"
"Promise me that even though I'm gone, you'll continue to fight…"
"I promise."
Yukimura planted a small kiss on Sanada's cheek, causing the fukubuchou to twitch slightly.
Sanada held Yukimura's hand for the last time. Another tear fell from his eye, landing gently on Yukimura's hand. And from that, Yukimura disappeared.
He could still hear Yukimura's voice whenever the wind would blow.
