Chapter 1
Sisterly Advice
"Anna you look incredible." I say amazed as she steps out into the room twirling around happily in her wedding gown.
"Thank you." She smiles walking over to me she takes my hands. "I can't believe this is happening, I'm so happy Elsa... I have my wonderful sister back in my life and in a few days I'll finally have my wedding."
I wrap my arms tightly around Anna. Smiling brightly I finally pull away. "I'm so lucky to have you. You never gave up on me all those years."
"I would never give up on you Elsa. You mean the world to me, you're the only family I have left. I wouldn't know what to do without you."
Anna changes back into her regular clothes. She walks down into the village with me for our usual afternoon stroll and people greet us smiling as we walk through the shops. "I can't believe you're already getting married."
Anna laughs. "Elsa you've said that a million times already... But, I know I almost can't believe it either."
I turn to her and give her a stern look. "Please don't tell me your planning to have children right away... I mean you're only nineteen and..."
Anna turns red "Elsaaaaa..." she interrupts looking embarrassed "Do we have to talk about this now... I thought I could avoid this conversation."
I turn to her nudging her lightly. "Nope." I pause. "You're the one who going to be spending all that time with Kristoff..."
"Elsa... Do we have to, I mean I'm Having this conversation with my sister can't I just read a book or something?"
"Oh believe me, Anna you don't want to read the book." I looked at Anna and smiled softly. "I'm your sister, I'm always going to be protective of you. I just can't help it."
Anna gives me a slight annoyed glance. "You don't think you're being slightly overprotective?"
"I could lock you in a tower if you'd prefer that, then no man would ever get near you again." I smile. Anna looks at me horrified she giggles uncomfortably and I shake my head laughing. "You know I'm just teasing you. I think Kristoff is wonderful Anna, he is very lucky to find such a wonderful girl."
"I'm just a little nervous Elsa... That's all, In a few days I'm going to be married."
"You love Kristoff don't you Anna?" I ask her looking directly into her eyes.
"Of course I love him." Anna responds.
"Then you have nothing to worry about." I smile trying to assure her everything would be alright.
"What if the castle burns down. Or a giant wave crashes into Arendelle or what if we get attacked..."
"Anna!" I stop her. "You are going to be just fine. Everything is going to be just fine stop worrying." I smile. "You're going to look absolutely stunning and everything is already prepared for. There's extra security, nothing is going to get in the way... I promise."
After our walk Anna and I returned to the castle and walked up into the study. Anna sat across from me swinging her feet gently as she sat in the chair. I pulled a book off the shelf, and placed it in front of her."
She takes one look at it then glances at me surprised. "You were serious about that! I thought the book was a joke!" She says shocked.
I shake my head and laugh. "Nope the book was certainly not a joke."
"Come on Elsa do we have to?"
"Why else would I pull this old thing out if I wasn't serious?" I question opening to a page and reading it out too her. "And that is what childbirth is like."
I stopped for a moment and look up at Anna she stared at me wide eyed and speechless. Backing away a little bit the princess began to speak. "Okay, Well I think I'm just going to leave now." Anna starts to get up I follow her to the door and take her hands. She still seems a little embarrassed about our talk.
"Look, Anna you're getting married. I'm not trying to scare you into never having children. But mother and father aren't here to tell you anything... I don't want you to be surprised, okay?"
Anna smiles at me awkwardly. "Yes Elsa, I know." She mutters slightly sarcastic.
I link arms with her and walk out the door. "Come on I have one more surprise for you." Guiding her into my room I leave her standing in front of a mirror. I take a box off the table and carefully open it. Inside a lovely silver tiara with tiny green jewels placed all around. "Close your eyes."
As Anna shuts her eyes I place it on her head. "Now open them." Anna opens her eyes setting them on the crown sitting on her head. she smiles brightly as she studies herself in the mirror.
"Elsa it's gorgeous, thank you." My sister turns around and hugs me tightly.
"Well, you needed something to go with your dress." I pull away and look at her. "It seems to suit you wonderfully. I can't wait to see you up there on your wedding day." I take a deep breath. "Wow... My little sister." I pause and let out a slight smile. "Would you stop growing up so fast?"
Anna pulls me in tightly for another hug. "I till have a long way to go, I'm only nineteen Elsa I'm afraid you're going to be stuck with me for a long time." she pulls away after a few silent moments and looks straight into my eyes. "You don't have to worry about me so much, I promise you that I'm not going anywhere."
"I know." I pause giving her a serious look. "Especially alone with Kristoff, and I mean anywhere."
"Really Elsa?"
I sit at the dinner table with my sister many people coming in and out of the kitchens. A tall man pours water into our silver glasses. I take a small sip of water and place it back down. "Anna, aren't you hungry?" I notice my sister hasn't even touched her food. She shakes her head and pokes around the plate with a fork.
"Not really..." Anna pauses sighing deeply. "I'm really nervous Elsa." she looks up at me with a frightened glance "What if something goes wrong?"
I smile at her, and nod in understanding . "I know you're nervous." I whisper softly. "I was nervous to become Queen... Very nervous... Scared even. But now look how happy we are. Look how happy everyone is."
"But you were afraid people would fear you for your powers. It's different."
"I was also afraid they would think I was a bad Queen. That I was too young and didn't know how to do anything. I was afraid I wouldn't know anything and I would somehow cause the fall of this kingdom. But Anna I learned I had absolutely nothing to fear."
My sister sighs again. "I'm just nervous Elsa." Anna shifts around uncomfortably still having not touched any of her food.
"Anna, you can always back out of this you don't have to get married. If it doesn't seem right then..."
Anna looks at me near tears. "I love him Elsa, I want to get married I'm Just... I don't know how to feel." I slowly get up from my chair and walk around to Anna pulling her in my arms.
"You'll be fine Anna, trust me."
Anna pulls out of the hug and takes my hand. "Will you walk me to my room."
"Sure." I squeeze my sisters hand tightly and begin walking up the grand staircase with her. I can see her almost shaking. "Anna, calm down sweetheart." I say in a comforting tone opening the doors to her room. "I'll come check up on you before I go to bed."
"Goodnight Elsa." She says softly closing the doors gently. I walk across the hall into my own room and sit in front of the window. I hear a gentle knock on the door the same man who served Anna and I our drinks comes to the door.
"Your majesty, Princess Anna and yourself seemed quite tense. I thought I would bring you some tea." I smile at the man and nod taking a cup off the silver tray. "How kind Thank you." I nod returning back to the window and curling up with the warm cup of tea in my hands.
I take a few small sips and breathe in the warmth before taking a few more. After a while I begin to grow sleepy. Quickly changing into a nightdress I crawl into bed and pull the covers over my body. Falling asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.
Elsa still had not come to say goodnight like she had promised. I waited up for her a long time until slowly crawling out of bed and quietly walking to her room. "Elsa?" I called out softly opening her door. "Elsa?" I call again nearing her bed I pull back the covers to see nothing. My sister was nowhere to be found.
Panicking I rush out of the room and down the hall nearly tripping down the grand staircase as the castle was dark at this time of night. I search and search for my sister even going back to her room once of twice to see if she made her way back there. But no signs of Elsa was anywhere to be found.
"Princess Anna, is something wrong." A a member of the royal guard asked me, I looked at him almost in tears. "Elsa... I can't find my sister. I've been looking for ages. She's not in her room, I can't find her anywhere... She promised me that she would come say goodnight before she went to bed. I haven't seen her for hours."
The man nodded. "It's very late Princess. We will start searching for Elsa right away... Why don't you try to get some sleep. I'll let you know everything that's happening when you wake up." The guard escorts me to my room opening the door and leading me inside. "We will find Elsa, I promise."
