Remnants
It was the end of the worst day in the history of the Earth, or so Kitty thought as she walked through the door of the Institute. Not only had she been utterly embarassed by Evan and Pietro's mindless fighting, but she'd also not yet been asked to Spring Formal, which was only 3 days away! From the way things were shapingup, it didn't look like she was going to get to go.
"Hey, Kitty." a familiar voice called from the ceiling. It was, of course, Kurt, who had gotten back earlier and was 'hanging out', so to speak, in the den. "Man, you look bummed. What's zhe matter?"
Completely ignoring Kurt, Kitty walked straight up the stairs. "What's her problem?" Kurt muttered, thinking he was out of earshot.
"I'll tell you what the problem is, Kurt." Kitty shot. "The problem is, I don't feel like being interrogated! I mean, i like, just got back, I've had a major bad day, so just LEAVE ME ALONE!"
"Whoa. Sor-ry."
************************
Some time later, in Kitty's room....
There came a knock on the door. "Go away!"
The knock came again. "Kitty," came Kurt's voice. "I need to talk to you."
"Whatever you have to say can wait until HELL FREEZES OVER!"
Suddenly, Kurt 'invited himself in', accompanied by a loud *BAMF*. "Sorry, Kitty, but no. Zhis can't wait." A troubled look came over his face, as if he were trying to pick the best words to say what he felt. "I...uhm...Kitty...."
"...Kurt...?"
"What I mean to say is...ah...er...Would you...ah...."
"Spit it out!"
"Would you...gotozhespringformalwithme."
"...did you...just...say what I think you said...?"
"Ah...." Kurt looked embarassed.
"I...I'd love to."
