Hey! Sorry I haven't been on in what feels like 7 years! I've been busy with school and what not, and have been sort of in a bad place mentally. I deleted the old stories because I didn't like how they were turning out, and felt a little overwhelmed with schoolwork, and how they were getting so many likes/follows and et cetera, since I had absolutely no will to continue them. To make up for it, I am writing a Link x Reader for you guys now, but don't expect it to get updated too often!

Quick guide for those of you new to character x reader stories:

(e/c): eye color

(h/c): hair color

(f/c): favorite color

(y/n): your name

(s/c): skin color

those are all the abbreviations I can think of for now, but if I remember/think of something else, I'll add it onto the page it pops up on!

Rain. Yet again. It seems like it's been raining nearly every day where you live. Whatever, at least it gives you an excuse to do what you love doing the most: playing video games for hours on end. Specifically, Nintendo games. To be a little more exact, Zelda. After arguing with yourself in your head a little over which Zelda game to play, you decided that you would finally finish Twilight Princess. You were on what, the second to last temple? You owed it to this game, the one that had brought you so much joy for who knows how many years.

As much as you loved video games, you weren't exactly the best at figuring out all the puzzles they always threw at you. Zelda Wikia, IGN, and YouTube were your best friends when it came to beating games. Plus, no one likes dealing with Zant's hand and all that other bull crap in the Twilight Palace, at least not without help. You let the walkthroughs guide your every step, and some hours later, you were finally facing Ganondorf. About time! The game seemed to play normally, just like the walkthrough video you had open. That is, until Ganondorf stood up from the throne. Huh? This wasn't in the walkthrough! When he stood up, the screen flickered, as did the lights in your room. The TV turned to static for a minute. Damn it! You don't even remember the last time you saved. You were about to turn off your console when the TV went back to normal. You walked back towards your chair, but Ganondorf's eyes seemed to almost follow you. You sat down, and almost as if he was waiting for you to do so, he chuckled. A text box came up.

"You did good to come this far, Link, or whatever you're actually called. But, do you think you can defeat me without any outside guides? Or... if you were actually here firsthand?" Damnit. That static must have fucked up the game. Before you could turn it off, a there was a flash of light, followed by a crack of thunder as the once-lit room turned pitch-black. Shit. Now the power was out. The rain hadn't really been that bad before. Yet another bolt of lightning struck while you were looking for a flashlight. A silhouette outside your window caught your eye... who the hell is crazy enough to be out in this weather!? ... Maybe they're lost? Although against your better judgement, you decide to confront the large, shady figure.

"H-hello?" you shout into the dark, pouring rain, flashlight in hand. "Sir... or madam... are you ok? Are you lost? Do... do you need a place to stay a while?" You turned on your flashlight, but before you could shine it on the figure, it sprinted towards... the forest? You decided to go after them, they might need serious medical or mental attention if they're running away from help.

In your chase, you soon found yourself in the forest. The figure kept darting away as you kept trying to get their attention, pleading them to let them help you. You then stumbled at the peak of a hill, yet the figure was nowhere to be seen. As you scanned the area, another blinding flash of light fell from the heavens, sending horrible, painful shockwaves through your fragile body as your vision faded.

...

You regained your vision, only to be staring up at an strange, irregular, yet almost familiar wooden ceiling. You started freaking out. Where the hell are you? What the hell happened? Are you even alive!? You were in so much shock* that you couldn't even catch your breath. You didn't realize that someone was in the room, since a seemingly familiar face appeared by your bedside.

"It's okay, you're safe," they said soothingly. "You're perfectly fine." The person's gentle voice helped you settle down enough to catch a decent breath. "Are you feeling alright?" You nodded, still not fully able to form words. "I can't really say I know what happened to you," they stated, "I just kind of stumbled on you while running some errands. You were... uh... barely alive, So I figured I should take you somewhere you'd be safe..." the kind person seemed to have trouble finding the right thing to say, and you sort of stopped paying attention. Where the hell were you!? Your eyes scanned your surroundings. Although it felt familiar, everything was foreign to you. You looked down at your hands, and you noticed something strange. Some sort of strange, bolt-like scar adorned your arms, and ran up them, leading to your back. How the hell did you get that!? One hell of a story must be hiding behind that, if only you could remember it...

You finally tuned back in to the person's one-sided conversation with you. "Yeah... I guess all my speculating about how you got there must be boring you at a time like this... are you able to tell me your name?" Finally, a question you knew the answer to! Your brain was a little bit fried, but it was still functional. "(y/n)..." you squeaked, your voice cracking.

The person replied, "(Y/n)? I never heard of a name like that... It's a very pretty name though! My name is Link."

Everything came together like a jigsaw puzzle. The strange room, the strange face, yet everything was so familiar... As soon as his name escaped his lips, it hit you like that strike of lightning.

Oh, fuck.

Yeah, so I hoped you guys liked this! Remember, I have kind of a busy schedule, so I might not be able to update often, and I promise not to delete this one!
