This is loosely an aftershot of Too Late but mostly a gift to Julie who's life inspired this puckleberry moment! :)
Disclaimer: I don't own glee. I don't even own the twins, they belong to one of my best friends, Julie.
She'd be lying if she said her life wasn't basically perfect. She had the perfect husband, a wonderful 3 year run as the lead of one of the now hottest new musicals on Broadway and for the past year had been blessed with being the mom to two beautiful baby boys. Her life was amazing. However, there were days like today when she wished that she could trade Noah places and be at work while he was at home with the boys.
"Mattie, where is my lipstick?" she asked the giggling baby, as she searched the floor for the missing lipstick. While she was feeding Gabe, she had let Matt play with her purse to keep him occupied and was sure that he had rolled or thrown the lipstick somewhere.
"Ugggh, damn Noah, why isn't it ever his precious paperwork from his garage?" As she said that she spotted the lipstick...on the dog bed. "Thanks for that, Matt" she said, trying to glare at the adorable baby boy but it wasn't happening. He was too precious.
Just then the door opened, "Hey Babe, I'm home." Noah called. He walked into the living room, putting his briefcase down on the table before picking up Gabe and tossing him in the air.
Rachel eyed the briefcase for a second as a thought went through her head but she quickly shook it off and smiled at her wonderful husband, "Hello, Noah! How was work?"
"Great! You'll never believe what happened!" He proceeded to tell her a long story about cars and stuff she never understood but always smiled and nodded, pretending to get it since he was so passionate about it. Finally when the story ended, she grinned at him saying, "That sounds amazing, love! Why don't we go out to dinner to celebrate?"
He quickly agreed and she pushed him towards the bedroom to shower and get ready. She then got her phone out and called to make a reservation at their favorite restaurant, realizing after she hung up that the twins were both being suspiciously quiet.
She turned and couldn't help but laugh out loud at the picture in front of her. The once closed briefcase had been opened by two way to smart for their own good, boys who were now throwing the papers up in the air and batting at them as the came down. She quickly set her phone on video to record this moment for future laughs.
"Hey babe, you can get ready... WHAT!?" Noah yelled, as he noticed his precious papers were now all over the floor.
Rachel shrugged, leaning over to kiss his cheek as she held the video out for him to watch, "Look how cute they are, honey."
"You let them destroy my paperwork, because they were cute?" He asked, more confused then annoyed.
Rachel shook her head, still trying to hold back giggles as she went to post the video on facebook, "Of course not! I didn't realize they were doing it until after I finished making reservations but it's like you're always telling me, when they lose my things from my purse, Boy's will be boys" she couldn't fight the grin any longer at that shot and from the small smirk on her husband's face, she could see she had won.
He pulled her into his arms, saying "Satan and I have rubbed off on you a little too much" before kissing her senseless to stop her would be rant for that comment. Both of them forgetting the mess and the world and just living in the perfectness of that moment in their crazy but wonderful life.
