Oh my StarClan, what is it with me and creating romantic stories when I'm not a romantic?
Anyways, this is a series of pairing stories where each chapter will have a pairing, though some may repeat if I come up with a different story line for that pairing or some might continue if I have an idea to continue with a story line. But most are going to be oneshots.
The Problems of Loving
FirexLong
The Clans had made it to the lake, the Clans' new home, and ThunderClan was settling in their new camp nicely. Longtail sat outside the elders' den, listening as the Clan busied themselves around the camp. He sighed as he wished he was still a warrior doing his duty to serve his Clan, being an elder just wasn't the life for him.
Longtail lifted his head as he heard Firestar coming down from his den. The pale tabby got to his paws and called out, "Firestar! I need to talk to you."
"What is it?" Firestar mewed as he padded over to the blind elder.
"Can we speak in private?" Longtail asked as he got to his paws.
"Sure," the ginger leader said, confused yet curious at the request. "Is the forest okay with you?"
"Yes, that is fine," Longtail mewed and let himself be lead outside the camp.
Firestar guided Longtail with a tail on his shoulder through the forest until they came upon a clearing in the middle of the forest where the two toms settled down next to each other. They were quiet for a moment, letting the sounds of the forest take over.
"Why did you want to speak with me, Longtail?" ThunderClan's leader finally asked.
The pale tabby turned his unseeing gaze to his paws. "I am just wondering why you wanted me to make the journey to the lake," he mewed.
"I told you when we were leaving, the Clan still needs you," Firestar mewed.
"No, it doesn't!" Longtail spat, his fur bristling. "Tell me the truth!"
Firestar was silent for a long while before meowing, his voice soft and quiet, "Because I didn't want to lose you."
What did that mean? Firestar didn't want to lose him? "What do you mean?" Longtail asked.
Firestar leaned over and licked the pale tabby's nicked ear, the ear he had nicked when he first joined ThunderClan. "I mean I love you," the ginger tom whispered in that nicked ear.
Longtail's blind blue eyes widened, rushed to his paws, and stepped back, away from Firestar until he hit a tree at the edge of the clearing. "W-wh-what?" he stuttered. His pelt was burning as if it was on fire.
"I said I love you, Longtail," Firestar meowed calmly as he got to his paws and advanced on the pale tabby. "I always have."
"B-but what about Sandstorm!" Longtail protested.
"Sandstorm knows, she knew when we agreed to become mates," the ginger leader explained. He reached the other tom and touched noses with the blind tabby. "I was afraid to tell you because I thought you'd reject me."
Longtail let his fluffed up fur fall as he calmed. "You mousebrain, you should have told me before I was blinded," he chided.
"Why?" Firestar asked, confused.
"Because I love you too," he confessed.
I don't know if I will continue with this story line, but I've had this stuck in my head for a long time and left it on my computer for over two or three weeks. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this tiny oneshot.
