Doctor Who: Race Against Time and Space

Episode One: Part One: The Dead Girl

Today was a happy day for Stephanie Quinn as she skipped along the busy streets of London, she came to a stop only to look up at the clear blue skies and bright warm sun, a huge smile crossing over her face and a ball of energy building with inside the pit of her stomach that seemed to travel down to her legs and up to her arms, making her wanting to dance around in excitement. Stephanie has never been to England and has always wanted to go, but never had the chance and never had the money to go, but just three days ago her boyfriend came to her with the plane tickets as a birthday gift, now here they are and Stephanie was loving every minute of it. She loved looking around at all the sites and attractions, but what she loved more was spending time with her boyfriend Brandon Jones, who was the love of her life.

"So how are you liking the trip so far babe?" Brandon's cheerful voice called from behind.

Stephanie spinned round to face her man, then she jumped up at him, throwing her arms around his neck and placing her lips to his for a kiss, then pulling away with a smile that seemed to never fade away.

"Thank you so much, this is the best birthday ever" Stephanie pulled Brandon in for a tight hug.

"Anything for you my queen" Brandon chuckled a little as he returned her hug.

Once the two finish their hug, Stephanie took a hold of Brandon's arm and dragged him off further down the streets of London, hoping to find a less crowded, relaxing, area to sit and rest. After a while of looking, the young couple found a nice spot under a tall shady tree. It was strangely the only area that was not crowded by Londoners and tourists, which just made it perfect to cuddle up under.

"This feels nice" Stephanie let out a happy, relaxed sigh "Only thing missing is a picnic".

"Is that you hinting for food" Brandon laughed.

"God yes, I'm soooooo hungry" Stephanie whined "I could kill for a bacon sandwich right now".

"Ha ha, will find a place to eat, I promise" Placing a kiss on her forehead.

Stephanie smiled and relaxed her head back into Brandon's chest, time passing slowly as she took the chance to enjoy the moment, this day could not have got any better for her, and just like that it was about to as her eye caught something interesting out in the far distance. Stephanie's favourite colour has always been blue, and she happened to spot what look like a blue wooden box that was clearly labelled above its double doors "Police public call Box". And just like that, she was straight up onto her feet and heading towards the box like lightning, she didn't take notice that no other tourist was around it and taking photos, she only cared about getting to it first. And as she reached the box, Stephanie looked up at it in aww, out of all the attractions and sites, London Eye, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, this blue wooden box was more exciting for her to see than anything else. She ran her hand across the wood work of the box and smiled, then turned as she could hear Brandon laughing.

"Just like a moth to a flame, anything blue and you are all over it" Brandon joked with a cheeky grin.

"Oh hush up" Stephanie giggled "Just get the camera and take my picture please".

Brandon still chuckling away, reached into his travel bag and pulled out the camera, Stephanie took her place by the police box, as Brandon started taking photos. Stephanie would make different poses and pull multiple faces until she was satisfied enough for no more pictures. The two shared a smile as they looked over the photos and had a nice little laugh at a few of them.

"These are nice babe" Brandon complimented "Any chance you can go inside the police box for a picture?"

"Lets see" Stephanie walked towards the double doors.

Stephanie wrapped her fingers around the handle and tried pushing the door open, but it would not open, it wouldn't even budge, she then tried pulling the door open, but same results. It felt strange to Stephanie, but it was as if the harder she pushed, the harder something on the other side of the door was pushing back, and when she tried pulling the door open, something was pulling it back. Was it locked, or was someone inside?

"Oh well, it was worth a try" Brandon patted Stephanie on the shoulder "I'm going to ask around and see where the best place is to eat".

Brandon left Stephanie on her own with the box, she just stared at its doors for a while, a strange interest taking over her mind as thoughts on what or who was inside this box, someone could be hiding in it and waiting for the right moment to jump out and scare her the moment she turns her back, or it could be just locked up and part of the sites and attractions. But a part of her felt that maybe there was something else to this box than meets the eye, something she could not quite put her finger on, so she balled up her hand into a fist and knocked four times.

"Hello?!" Stephanie called.

Taking a small step back, she waited for some sort of response, she watched for something to happen, but there was nothing. She even gave it some more time before shrugging her shoulders and turning around to walk away, but as she turned the sound of door lock tumblers clicking caught her attention, she turned back to face the blue police box and watched the doors closely. The double doors then fly wide open, Stephanie jumped back to avoid being hit by the doors, but fell backwards onto the ground instead. She hissed in pain, then looked up to see standing above her was a strange looking man, pale skin and wide eyes as if he just went through some tragic horror. He was looking all around in all sorts of directions before spotting Stephanie on the ground, he then reached out his hand to her and she slowly took it, and with such great strength, the man pulled Stephanie up onto her feet without struggle, and he excitedly grabbed her hand with both hands and madly shook it while in a loud cheerful voice greeted her as if they were long time friends.

"HELLO THERE! Its a pleasure to meet you! Terrible sorry for knocking you down like that! I'm the . . . . ." He paused for a moment and looked off into space, trying to think on who he was but had no idea, his now cheerful mood replaced by slight disappointment as he spoke again with uncertainty in his voice ". . . . . . I'm the Doctor".

"Doctor"? Stephanie raised an eyebrow in confusion "Doctor who"?

AN: Thank you for taking the time to read this, if you would like to leave a review and let me know what you think that would be great. I was originally gonna make this into a 12th Doctor adventures but the Peter Capaldi was named the 12th Doctor, so I changed it to 13 but if you watched the Day of the Doctor and read news articles about the episode and the show and things what Steven Moffat, then you will know why I have changed the title to Race Against Time and Space. For my own Doctor, I will not say what number incarnation he is in, so he could have regenerated a hundred times and no one will know, and he will not mention what Doctor he generated from, so he could come from who ever plays the Doctor after Capaldi and no one will know. So pretend this is a cannon Doctor and things will work out ;) Until next time my fellow readers :)
