OPPOSITES DO ATTRACT:

If you looked at it on paper, there weren't a lot of similarities you could find between Harry Potter and Dan Cooper. Harry, as was very well known, was an impulsive sort, Dan was more cool-headed. Harry was sporty, and particularly into Quidditch, while Dan was bookish. Harry was a rebel; Dan abides strictly by the rules. Dan was brilliant at potions, and enjoys History of Magic, while Harry's star subject was transfiguration and his preferred class was Defense against the Dark Arts (well, most years anyway….).

Despite all these differences there was one similarity about them, they were both shy when it came to approaching the person they liked. Harry knew he was in love with Dan, but also knew that he hadn't got a chance as he had heard that Dan was already interested in someone; not knowing that the person Dan was interested in was Harry himself. Not wanting to get his heart broken, Harry hadn't asked Dan. He preferred to love him from afar. Dan on the other hand had the same problem. He knew Harry was gay, but not sure how to approach him. But, he also knew if he didn't hurry, he would lose Harry to someone else. It was now or never. If he broke his heart, he would ask for forgiveness and move on. So, one day Dan decided to make a move, he went along to Quidditch try outs knowing full well he wasn't good enough to make the team. He knew that Harry was a compassionate sort and that he'd get him alone to let him know he hadn't made the team.

At the try outs, Harry was glad Ginny was there to pay attention to how everyone was playing. He couldn't concentrate. Dan had shown up, and though he wasn't the greatest flyer, or player, Harry couldn't keep his eyes off him. Even before he talked with Ginny, he knew that Dan didn't quite have what it took, so we went to find him and let him know.

Harry couldn't believe it, when he asked Dan if he could speak with him, Dan had smiled, and then he kept smiling, even when Harry told him he hadn't made the team. He had to find out why. Dan's smile got even bigger,
"I knew I hadn't made it, I don't even really want to play. I just needed a reason to talk to you alone."

"Ok then…" Came the response from Harry. "You've got me alone, what did you want to say?"

"I admire you, no, more than that; I think I'm falling in love with you Harry Potter." Harry glanced up at Dan, and, seeing that he was serious, blushed before whispering, "I think I love you too." Before crashing his lips on Dan's. Dan moaned at the contact and put his arm around to pull Harry closer against him; his other arm crawled into Harry's hair as they devoured each other's mouths...

''Dan? Harry? Aaaaaahhh...'' Dan and Harry broke apart to see Ron staring at them pointing between Harry and Dan with a shaking finger. ''You... He... Kissing?''

''Yes Ron, we were snogging...'' Harry said holding Dan's hand. ''And tend to continue if you could leave us alone...'' He added as an afterthought.

''You are crazy!'' Ron said before stalking away.

Harry turned towards Dan. ''So where were we?''
