Another request by tate310, this time it's "Percy and the Magic Carpet' from Season 8. Enjoy and comment.

It was a windy day on the Island of Sodor. Trees were blowing leaves off their branches, and Sir Topham Hatt lost his top hat. All the engines were looking forward to the annual Sodor Flower Show.

Sir Topham Hatt came to Tidmouth Sheds with news about an important special.

"This special must get to Maithwaite Station before Alicia Botti arrives." he boomed.

Everyone was excited to see Alicia Botti open the flower show. They also wanted to take the special.

"Percy will take the special to Maithwaite." said Sir Topham Hatt.

Percy was delighted, but Gordon and James were cross.

"It can't be that special!" boasted Gordon, "or Sir Topham Hatt would have sent me instead!"

"Or me!" added James.

Percy wondered what the special could be. He steamed out of Tidmouth Sheds as fast as he could.

Percy soon arrived at Brendam Docks, just as Cranky unloaded his special, a roll of carpet. This made Percy very disappointed.

"What's so special about a carpet?" wheeshed Percy.

"Maybe it's a magic carpet!" said Salty. "I heard they can fly! Do you know any magic words?"

"Like please?" asked Percy hopefully.

"No Percy!" said Salty. "Magic words like presto, or hocus pocus!"

Cranky had unloaded the carpet onto Percy' flatbed.

"It doesn't look very magic!" said Percy sadly.

But as Percy puffed away, the carpet unrolled!

Percy puffed as quickly as he could. He had to stop at a junction, and Gordon was waiting there.

"That's the special?!" mumbled Gordon. "No wonder Sir Topham Hatt gave the job to you!"

Just then, the carpet rose from the flatbed and flew into the air!

"Look!" Percy cried. "It is a magic carpet!"

"That's not magic!" snorted Gordon. "That's just the wind!"

Murdoch passed by pulling a long train, and the carpet suddenly fell onto one of his cars.

"Murdoch's got my magic carpet!" cried Percy.

Percy chased after Murdoch.

"Wait for me! Please!"

But Murdoch didn't hear Percy.

Murdoch passed through Maron Station. James was collecting passengers.

"Murdoch has my magic carpet!" cried Percy.

"Silly little Percy!" snorted James. "There's no such thing as a magic carpet!"

Just then, the carpet flew off of Murdoch's car, and glided onto Toby's roof!

Percy raced after Toby, until he pulled into Kellsthorpe Station. Percy raced in as fast as he could.

"Wait!" called Percy.

But Toby didn't move, the carpet did! It flew off Toby, and landed on the tracks.

"Help!" cried Percy.

Gordon was less impressed than before.

"Still trying to look important?" he mumbled.

Then, there was trouble. Thomas was coming, and he was on the same track as the carpet!

So Percy and Gordon blew their whistles are loud as they could.

"I'll say a magic word!" cried Percy. "Hocus pocus!"

But it was no use! The carpet stayed where it was, until a large gust of wind blew it off the tracks, and landed on Percy's flatbed.

"It is magic!" gasped Gordon.

"And I'm going to be late!" puffed Percy.

Percy's driver tied the carpet down, and Percy set off as fast as he could.

Percy puffed into Maithwaite Station. Sir Topham Hatt was waiting.

"I'm sorry sir! I caused so much confusion and delay chasing the magic carpet!"

Sir Topham Hatt laughed.

"There's no such thing as a magic carpet." he boomed, "but you're just in time and a really useful engine!"

Percy felt very proud!

Soon the carpet was unloaded and put into place.

Gordon arrived with Alicia Botti, and the flower show was a huge success! Even though Sir Topham Hatt said that the carpet wasn't magic, Percy and Gordon weren't so sure.
