Disclaimer: I do not own Sanctuary or the song "Judas" by Lady Gaga
Summary: All good things must come to an end. As we found out in Normandy, James and Helen are in a relationship, well I figure at some point they must have broken up so here is my version of what I think happened.
I wanna love you,
But something's pulling me away from you
Jesus is my virtue
Judas is the demon I cling to
"Helen what is something wrong, you have been rather quiet?"
Helen sighed and looked up from her tea cup. The café buzzed with life around them. It was funny how ten years previously this little café was where James had been tortured by her Victorian lover and it seemed that today James would be tortured by his memory today. James Watson would have been perfect, with his intelligence, charisma and the continuing improvements to his exoskeleton keep him young he would have made her a perfect partner. But it seemed that recently all she could think of while lying next to James was the forbidden kisses stolen between the alleyways of Oxford. Her best friend, beloved brain-twin…and yet she could not love him.
"I have come up with a new serum that should be able to turn John back to normal." Helen announced setting her tea cup down on the table
"Helen," James let out a sigh. "That is if you can find John to give it to him."
"I have to try James"
Of course she did. Helen Magnus would never give up. Not on him, not on a sick abnormal, a secret mission and never on John.
"I am sorry Watson you might be my virtue; but John is the demon I cling to." Helen picked up her tea and took a sip.
Watson sighed. He should have seen this coming. Their 90 some odd years together, as friends and as lovers, had made him realize that he could never have the whole Helen Magnus. Part of her heart disappeared when the Ripper took John away.
He picked up Helen's hand and kissed her knuckles. James saw her eyes get misty as he said good bye, paid for his tea and headed out of the café to make his way back to the UK Sanctuary. As James walked out he made sure she never saw his eyes tear up too.
I'm just a holy fool, oh baby he's so cruel
But I'm still in love with Judas, baby
