Mako opened the door of the small apartment he shared with Bolin. He was beyond tired from a long day at the police department. All he wanted to do wanted was to go to bed and sleep forever. Mako was hanging his coat on the hook when he heard sobbing coming from his living room. Curious, he went to see who making all that noise.
To his surprise, he found his best friend Myrra; a young waterbender he met during his stay at the Southern Water Tribe. She had connected with the Krew pretty quickly and had decided to come back with them to Republic City; where her aunt lived as well. Thus, here he found her curled up on his couch sobbing.
"Myrra," he asked uncertainly. She looked up, her dark blue eyes rimmed with red.
Upon seeing Mako, she cried even more. Mako sighed, sitting beside her and gathering her in his arms. "What's wrong?" He continued. Myra shook her head, and snuggled up with him more.
After a few minutes, she finally answered. "Tahno broke up with me." Mako growled, remembering Myrra took up with Tahno just as quickly as she did with them. They had quickly gotten to know each other and started a relationship. He also remembered more than once he would find her in his living room in tears over something Tahno had done. He would hold her in his arms until early hours in the morning, trying to hold back telling her how he felt about her. After she got done crying, she would run back to Tahno like nothing ever happened. It would break his heart in a million pieces every time, but not this time. He was going to tell her he loved her with everything he had. She had to know.
"Myrra," he paused until she looked up at him, "You deserve someone who treats you right and loves you with everything he has. If you would let me, I could be that. I love you, Myrra." He confessed.
Myrra smiled a little, wiping the tears off her face with her sleeve. "I love you too, but I'm not ready for another relationship. Will you wait for me?" She asked.
Mako hugged her tight and kissed her forehead. "Forever if I have to." He whispered.
