Fragile was the Fabre boy.

After that day, the day he took the lives of many; the day he destroyed a whole city.

Akzeriuth.

All he could think about was the lives he ended, the feeling of betrayal from the one person who he trusted his whole life. He could never bring himself to forgive that one person. Himself.

The Colonel looked on; looking at the young boy from beyond the glass that separated them. The rain danced onto the window, leaving its trails behind. For now, he would think of Luke washing away his sins in the rain. But Jade knew better than anyone else… no one would be able to forgive Luke for what he did.

Not only was the rain depressing, but watching Luke was depressing as well. Sighing, Jade knew he had to do something about this. He had already predicted that the others would do nothing, except give Luke his space. It had been two days since the 'accident' and nothing changed.

Jade was determined to make that change.

The clicking of heels made its way to the door and then outside. Jade's hair became damp from the water pouring from the sky. For now, becoming wet from the precipitation did not matter. The most important thing was to pull Luke back together so they could continue on with their journey.

He walked up to the redhead, watching his back. Luke was crouched down, his arms wrapped around his legs. His face was buried in his knees and his clothing drenched. Placing a hand to his forehead, Jade sighed. The teenager had been out in the rain for two days and no one decided to do anything about it.

Until now.

Bending down on one knee, Jade stared at Luke, hoping to get his attention this way. He was correct in doing so. The boy raised his head. The mix of rain and tears steamed down his face and his eyes almost as red as Jade's. Carefully, Jade took Luke's chin in his hand and titled his head upward. Slightly tilting his own head to the side and closing his eyes (and sighing before doing so), Jade placed a simple kiss on the Fabre's lips. Maybe more shock would help him get out of his previous one.

Getting a reaction from the Fabre, Jade pulled away. The Colonel rose to his feet, readying himself to walk away. Soon, that ability was hindered by a glove holding onto the tail end of his uniform. Jade looked back and followed the arm back to its owner. He said nothing, knowing that Luke would speak first.

"T- thank you," Luke whispered. A 'thank you' from the Fabre was not something he expected to hear. Not because of the situation, but because those two words never fell from Luke's lips.

Resuming his position to the Fabre once more, crimson eyes met jade ones. "Now do tell me Luke. What exactly are you thanking me for?" the older male questioned. Luke moved forward and wrapped his arms around Jade. "Everyone left me alone for the past two days. But all I wanted was someone to be near me, to comfort me…" Jade already knew this fact. Luke in this position screamed out attention, but not in an egoistical way. "But, I did not come out here you comfort you Luke," Jade informed the boy. In reaction, the grip on his clothing tightened. Jade looked down at the boy and sighed once more. Slowly, he wrapped his arms around Luke. "Well I suppose I am now."

On the verge of falling apart, he held the broken pieces of glass together.
