Yata Misaki seriously doesn't know why he's doing this.

He grumbled, placing his hands in his pockets as he peeked from store to store. Tomorrow seems to be Valentine's Day, and it was a custom to give out chocolates. Normally, it would just be the girls giving out chocolates for the guys, but he can't be bothered.

Seriously though, he still doesn't know why he's doing this.

One pack of dark chocolate for a hundred yen only!

The sign stopped him in his tracks. Perfect. He was searching for dark chocolate all day. It was either sold out or the shop wasn't selling any at all. He sighed. Finally, he found what he was looking for.

He pushed the door open, hearing a bell momentarily ring before being greeted by the girl by the cashier. He'll probably get judged for being a guy and buying chocolate when tomorrow is Valentine's, but to hell with that.

The bigger problem is that the person by the cashier is a girl.

Misaki has never been great with talking to girls. They just seem like creatures entirely different from the guys and before he knew it, he would be stuttering and everything he would like to say would disappear in thin air.

He wordlessly took a dark chocolate pack and placed it on the counter together with his payment, lightly blushing. The girl smiled, taking the pack and payment before giving him his change. He took the paper bag that the girl placed the pack in and promptly left the shop. At least that's taken care of now.

He looked up the sky as he walked. For the third time, he doesn't know why he was doing this. He's acting really stupid. Maybe he really is an idiot.

He sighed.

It can't possibly hurt to continue, right?

—-

If he wants to back out, now is the best time to do it.

But he's Yata Misaki, and he doesn't know how to back out.

"H-Hello." He greeted awkwardly. He hates the idea of being in the Blue Clan's territory, but it can't be helped right now. "I'm here to see Saruhiko."

The green-haired man in front of him eyed him from head to toe, condescendingly in Misaki's opinion, before replying. "Please wait a moment while I get Fushimi-san."

He sat down on what he'd call a waiting area, and he internally argued with himself if he was doing the right thing.

And that he's a very big idiot who should just disappear from the face of the earth.

He can still run away and act like he just wanted to pull a poorly-made prank. Saruhiko might or might not get pissed off, but something that Misaki will be certain of is that he will also feel pissed at himself if he does leave now. He impatiently tapped his feet, looking up at the slightest sound.

Damn it, maybe he can still leave-

"Misaki?" He heard Saruhiko's voice. "What are you doing here?"

-Or not.

Crap. There's no backing out now.

Misaki stood up, shoving the paper bag to Saruhiko's hands. "Here. For Valentine's."

Saruhiko blinked, confused. "Misaki, what-"

"J-Just take it!" Misaki blushed, wondering how red he looks at the moment. "T-This doesn't mean anything, o-okay? I-I just happened to have some extra at home!"

It has been a long time, but Misaki would recognize that anywhere. That- meaning, Saruhiko's smile. It caught Misaki off guard and he blushed like he never did before. He never felt so embarrassed before, even when talking to a really attractive girl.

"Thank you, Misaki. I'll give you something next month."

"You better!"

Maybe Misaki became happy, maybe he didn't.

But whatever.

It's not like he cares, right?
