Puck walked swiftly down the hallway, grape slushie in hand. This had become a ritual for him and Berry. Yes, they were in Glee Club together but that under no circumstances meant that they needed to be nice to each other. He would have rather pet a porcupine then be nice to that… abomination. There she was, standing at her locker, doing her usual italk to herself/i prep. He walked past her, and quickly threw the slushie in her face
"See you in Glee Club Berry" he said her name with a sneer.
She just stood there, mouth open and hands in the air. She should have expected this, she was hoping that it had finally come to an end after two days of being slushie free but of course not.
"Purple is not your color Rach. Come on, let's get you cleaned up" a soft voice said, but she knew that it was Kurt.
Once in the girl's bathroom Rachel slowly slid down the wall, tears already falling down her face. Why couldn't people just leave her alone? She just didn't understand it. Puck had never been nice to her but her dad's would just tell her that it was cause he liked her.
"Awe, come on Rach it isn't that bad. These stains will come out" Kurt said the the crying girl.
"No Kurt, it's not that!" she nearly screamed at him.
"Why can't he just leave me alone! I don't understand it. He makes it seem like it's his mission to make my life miserable."
Rachel couldn't hold back her tears, she had kept them in for so long and now that they started she wasn't sure that she could stop them.
"Kurt, go tell Mr. Shue that I won't be in class today" she replied quietly.
Never had she missed Glee Club, but she couldn't face him, not like this. She couldn't show him that she was weak. Rachel Berry refused to let people see that she was weak. She had an image to hold up, and she wasn't going to be a star if she was weak.
Kurt reluctantly walked out of the girls bathroom and down the hallway to the choir room where most of the Glee kids were already seated. When Mr. Shue came in, Kurt raised his hand and started to speak without being called on.
"Mr. Shue, Rachel won't be in class today" Kurt said trying to hide the worry in his voice.
There were multiple gasps from the other students in the room but the one reaction he was watching in particular was Pucks. Realization dawned on Puck's face that he was the cause of Rachel's absence.
Glee practice when painfully slow for Puck, he wanted to just get up and leave and go and find Rachel but he couldn't do that without causing suspicion.
Once Glee was finally over he scurried out of the classroom and headed down the hallway. Once everyone was finally out of the hallway he double checked both ways before he entered the girls bathroom. He stood there for a few seconds listening to nothing until he heard the faint sobs of someone.
"Berry?" he called out softly.
Why was he even doing this? Because you care for her said a voice inside his head
The sniffling stopped and the sound of a door unlatching could be heard.
"Puck..?"
