Doctor Leroy Gibbs M.D.
"D—a—d—d—y"
"Kelly? What is it?"
Gibbs popped his head around the corner of the house they had recently purchased in D.C. Gibbs was left to 'man' the fort while Shannon was out with friends and food shopping. There on the concrete was a 6 year old, clutching her knee.
"I fell Daddy. Off the swing."
"You did?"
Gibbs rushed over to where Kelly lay. "Oh, ow. What'd you do to yourself?"
"I'm sorry Daddy."
"What for?"
"Crying."
"It's alright. Even the best of us cry, hunny."
"Ok."
"Come on. I"ll carry you inside." Gibbs picked Kelly up off the concrete. He noticed how much she seemed to depend on him these days. Placing his hand on the door knob, Kelly tightened her grip around his neck. "Doctor Daddy is going to make your leg feel better."
"Mommy says not to sit on the table." Kelly said when he placed her on the table in the dining room.
"I've got to put you somewhere, don't I? Mommy isn't going to mind."
"I guess."
"Now, is Kelly going to be a good patient for the Doctor?"
"Yes!"
"Ok," Gibbs said as he sat down at one of the chairs, first aid kit in hand. "Let's see what we have."
Opening the kit, Gibbs pulled out a bandage and antiseptic. Daubing the antiseptic onto a cotton bud he applied the liquid to his daughter's knee.
"OW. That stings!"
"It's meant to. It will kill any bugs that got on your knee."
"I can't see any."
"You can't see these types of bugs. These bugs are so tiny that only people with magnifying glasses can see them."
"That's cool."
"Bandage time."
Smoothing the bandage over her knee, Gibbs kissed the bandage.
"Thanks Daddy, my knee feels better. You're a good Doctor. But a better Daddy."
