Alyssacookie wanted me to post another Silvaze one-shot, so here it is!

A gentle breeze had picked up, blowing around leaves that were different shades of orange and red. It was early autumn, and two Mobians could be seen walking together.
The path they were taking was all but new, and a dusty brown color. There was a row of trees on each side of the path, swaying softly in the wind. Each was coated in a mixture of reds, oranges and browns, with each leaf falling one by one.
The two walked along together peacefully, occasionally stepping on a fallen leaf. They would converse every once in a while, but then continue in silence. Though this was mainly the doing of the ivory one— he was once again pondering through his thoughts.
He had recently been thinking of what would happen to his lilac companion if he was gone. Not like he planned on randomly disappearing of course, but it was something he never bothered to think about before. What would happen to her? Would he be forgotten?
The idea had shaken him quite a bit, and he decided on a solution just as quickly. Why didn't he just get her something to remember him by? Just in case anything does happen.
That left him to wonder what that something should be.
But even up to that moment, he still didn't know. He would ask her, but he knew she'd be rather confused and try to look deeper into the question, and try to find some hidden motive.
Evidently not paying attention to where he was going, he started picking up the pace, and eventually started walking towards the left— which led him straight to a lamp post.
The feline noticed this, and tried to get his attention.
"Silver! Watch out for the lamp po—"
Bam!
Too late.
"Ow!"
The lavender one rushed over, and spoke in a worried tone. "Are you alright?"
The hedgehog rubbed his head, now in a slight daze. "Yeah… I guess."
She reached out to him with one of her hands. Grabbing her hand, he replied with a simple, "Thanks."
Now that he was at eye level with her, she spoke again. "What were you doing?"
He scratched his head and replied with a nervous grin. "Well, actually… I was thinking. It's kind of a weird worst case scenario actually."
His lilac companion said nothing, so he continued.
"I was wondering what would happen if I was gone one day. Would you remember me?"
Shock and amusement were evident in the female's golden eyes.
"Of course I would remember you. Why would you even ask such a silly question?"
He frowned slightly at the second half of her statement.
"I-I don't know. I guess I'm just worried, that's all. I wanted to get you something so you would always remember that I'm with you, but I didn't know what that something would be."
Her gaze was serious now.
"Silver, you know that just having you here with me is enough of a gift. I don't need material possessions. Items are superficial, anyway."
The white hedgehog's eyes lit up at this.
"Really Blaze?"
"Of course." She pecked him on the cheek, and then kept walking. "Come on now, let's get going."
He stood there in silence while pink tinted his cheeks and watched her walk off into the distance. Well, if she says that having him being there is enough of a present, then he would do his best to always be with her. That way, she would remember him— even after he was long gone.
A/N: So, what did you guys think? ^^
Anyways, Happy New Year! I'm still having trouble believing that it's actually 2010. Oh well, I'll get used to it.
How's 2010 for everyone so far?
And as usual, reviews are appreciated!
