Please compare this to my first story so you will get the full extent. Meaning that this story is the second chapter but on different document.
Tomorrow it will be 2 weeks since I met him. Kade Night. The beautiful mystery on the beach. Not a hour goes by his face doesn't push itself into my mind.
Here I am again, on the balcony, coffee in hand, and staring out across the cars that passed below.
Claire came out with a glass of wind in one hand and a small box with a bow in the other.I rolled my eyes, "Claire, no. I told you no gifts." I said pulling my head back.
"Yes." She giggled, holding the box out to me, "It wouldn't be a birthday without presents. Besides, this one isn't even from me."
My eye brows narrowed, "then who?"
"I'm saving my birthday gifts for you for later." She replied, "this just showed up on our doorstep earlier this morning without a return address.
My birthday. A day I regret, my 22nd birthday. When I told you that I hate alcohol, my 21st birthday is the reason. The age 21 and alcohol should tell you it all.
"You gonna' open it, or do you want me to?" she asked placing her glass on the patio table behind me.
I looked over at her, then looked down. I stared at the cardboard box with a yellow ribbon on top. Taking the tape and the ribbon off first, I handed then to Claire and returned to opened the small fist sized shoe box.
Whatever it was, it was wrapped in tissue paper. I moved it to the sides and there it was. Placed on top of the tissue paper laid the most beautiful necklace I had ever seen. A smile crossed my face as I picked it up in my hand. I admired the silver chain it hung from and the small clean crystal perfect cut hanging from it. The sun's rays his the stone and shined out across my face,
"Here, "Claire said taking it away from me and helping me put it on, "let me help." She attached the ends together and I looked down at it hanging there, "Beautiful." Clair said excitedly.
"I love it." I said smiling down. I looked back at the box and saw what I had missed before. Under it all was a small piece of paper and the edge sticking out. I reached over and pulled it out of it's hiding place.
My name was written beautifully on the front, Claire smiled, "Must be from the mystery gifter." She said from both our thoughts.
I turned the paper over and there the beautiful writing extended to the back as well. I read the beautiful writing and when I was finished, a huge smile was framed across my face.
"What? Who…" Claire mumbled away until I looked up, "Please, read it out loud or something!" she was about to burst and it was sort of funny.
I smiled and began to read:
Alex,
I know we barely know each other and we didn't have much time to talk, but thank s to Claire, I found out that your birthday was coming up, I'm back in town, and I would rea- lly like to know if we could get together sometime to get to know each other.
I apologize because I do not have a return letter for your reply, so hopefully your ans- wer is a YES. If your answer is yes, let Claire take to with her tonight and meet me.
With great hopefulness,
Kade Night
