She reluctantly pulled back from their kiss and rested her head on Darien's chest. All the tension and hurt from the past few weeks might as well not have happened now, she thought blissfully.

"You do love me," she murmured. "I knew you still did...knew it all along."

Darien sighed, holding her close and stroking her hair.

"I never stopped loving you," he said. "But these dreams, Serena, I know they're trying to tell me something." Serena groaned.

"I was hoping we could forget about them," she said. "But since we obviously can't, I just have one question...why didn't you just itell/i me before you broke my heart?! I was so sure I'd done something to upset you, that suddenly I wasn't good enough for you and it really hurt!"

"You're right," Darien said. "If I could go back and do it again I'd tell you straight out. I just didn't want to scare you."

"I'd rather be scared than have my heart broken," Serena muttered, clutching the fabric of his shirt as fresh tears welled in her eyes. "Would you still have broken up with me?"

"That I don't know," he sighed. "In the end it just hurt us both, but if it meant protecting you from the fate I kept seeing in those dreams I'd have left the country."

Serena closed her eyes with a small pout, tightening her fingers around the fabric.

"Who would do this to us, though?"

"I kept thinking it was the Negamoon, but the more I think about it the less I'm sure," Darien said. "And as long as we're together we're just going to keep having these dreams..."

"So I guess this means we're still broken up," she sighed. "Oh, well...I understand, Darien. I'll go quietly this time."

He shook his head, pulling her closer.

"We'll get to the bottom of this together," he said. "Who knows, maybe it's just some crazy coincidence and we're worrying about nothing!"

"Darien..." She looked up at him, her heart near to bursting with joy. "I...I just love you so much," she cried; he leaned down to kiss her again in response.
