For Alec Lightwood, life had never been the same since that night. It wasn't the crippling anger at Camille (although she was dead), or the endless sea of hurt. No, for Alec, it was the guilt. The guilt that would haunt him till his dying day. The guilt that he had hurt the one person on the planet whom he loved unconditionally. And Alec knew that, although he was angry now, he would never stop loving Magnus. Ever.

Magnus woke up, the sheets sticking to his sweaty body. He sighed as he again awoke, feeling nothing but empty space next to him. He remembered when he took it for granted that he would wake up and look at that raven-black hair. And the sight of those blue eyes, sleepily looking up at him and then lighting up from within with love. Magnus had thought that this would be the relationship which would work. That he would wake up every day for the rest of his life with Alec.

And that one day, when those blue eyes lost their glow and faded away, that he would let go and finally fade away too. Magnus never thought that he would be the one to destroy that fantasy. He had always imagined that Alec would be the one to end things, or his parents would split them up. Even Magnus couldn't deny the blinding rage that had consumed him when he had heard about what Camille had done.

But Magnus knew, that whatever happened, he would always love Alec. And that he would do anything for him.

Hope you liked that! I know nothing happens in this chapter but it is a summary type thing! More action in the next chapter!
