Where We Met Before
By: M14Mouse
Summary: Agent Jeff Morrison lied…him and Max have met before. Heroes/Hawaii 5-0 crossover.
Disclaimer: Don't own them.
Agent Morrison pulled his car right next to Max's car. He grinned slightly. At least, it was better than his last car. He sworn that thing was going to fall apart any second when ever Max drove it. He unbelted himself from the seat and opened the car's door.
The sight nearly took his breath away. The sky was on fire. The bleeding red sky melted into the ocean. Every time he saw it, it left him in awe.
He closed the door and approached Max. He seemed content just staring out over the dock. Nothing like the man he remembered. That man was always full of such energy. Bouncing around to know…to look…to understand.
"You are late," Max said without bothering to turn around.
"Not everyone can control time, Hiro," He said as he stood next him.
"I did no such thing."
He chuckled softly.
"Oh?"
Finally, Hiro looked over at him and gave him a sheepish look.
"I may have tested the speed limitations on my new car."
"How fast were you going?"
"Fast enough."
"I shouldn't be hearing this."
Hiro smiled slightly.
"You haven't changed."
"And yet, you have."
It was very strange to see Hiro in that room. He never screamed Medical Examiner to him then again, he never screamed a millionaire's son either in their world.
"I still want to help people…just not…"
He nodded. There was too much temptation to use their powers. He had trouble doing the same. It was funny. He wanted be normal for so long. Now…now…it was hard. He could just slip in and get the information. That is why he chose customs. His life is still full with excitement but not as much as he did when he was a cop.
"I understand," He said as he leaned against the railing.
"I am sorry for your loss, Matt. She seemed like a fine officer."
"She was…"
The pain was familiar. He has lost so many people in his life. He had no idea what happened to the other group. He sighed. Their world got…bad after the big reveal. Hunt…Track…Kill by the thousands….it was horrible. The remaining of their rag tag group gathered. Peter took a few and Hiro took the rest. They landed here and rebuilt their lives to the best of their ability. It was hard but they made it work…at least, that is what he heard. He hasn't heard from some of the others for a long time.
Hiro was one of them.
He couldn't have been anymore surprise to see him here. In Hawaii of all places… Still geeky as ever from what he has been told.
"So, Max, huh?"
"It was an easy name to remember! Very American sounding."
He laughed.
"And Jeff?"
"Picked out a phone book."
Hiro started laughing.
"Very Matt of you."
"It was easier than making one up."
"Yes…How is Molly and Matt Jr?"
He sighed.
"Molly is loving it here. Matt…not so much."
Molly understood the need of secrets. Matt doesn't remember their old world. A part of him hoped that he never had to tell him.
"Give it time, Matt. He will understand."
"I hope so,"
He took a breath and stared out into the ocean.
"Do you miss it? Our world."
"Sometimes…but this is our home now…."
Hiro's voice trailed off at the end. He didn't need to continue.
He understood.
More than ever…
