I've done it. I've actually done something I doubt has ever even been considered in this fandom. I have written...
Yuri. Or at least shoujo ai. Onesided shoujo ai, anyway. But still.
Hey, Jun? This is Naomi Nakahara...you know, the girl Ken brought on board the God Phoenix ten years ago after Galactor killed her father. I'm in town for a few weeks and I was wondering if you'd like to have coffee with me sometime.
It was the last thing Jun expected to find on her answering machine when she got back from the track one morning, but suddenly the memories were flooding back to that day. A young girl with fire and sorrow in her eyes, another victim of Galactor's crimes. But thanks to Ken she got to do something about it. She hadn't seen or heard from the girl since then, but suddenly she wished she had.
"Why not?" She smiled, picked up the phone and called to tell Naomi she'd meet her at the coffee shop tomorrow morning.

The young girl with fire and sorrow in her eyes had grown into a pretty young woman, Jun couldn't help but notice as Naomi sat down at the table with her.
"So what made you decide to call me after ten years?" she asked.
"The other day I found a picture of my father and it reminded me of how much you helped me back then," Naomi said. "I realized I didn't thank you all nearly enough...especially you, Jun."
"Me?" Jun blinked. "But Ken's the one who saved you and encouraged you to fire the missile."
"Yes, and I'll always be grateful to him," Naomi said. "But seeing you in your Birdstyle helping the guys fight the mecha, and hearing about the Swan's fighting prowess and smarts...it made me realize that just because I was a girl, it didn't mean I had to be helpless. So I studied and studied, and today I hold the same position my father did back then!"
"Oh!" Jun grinned. "Congratulations, Naomi! I know he'd be very proud of you."
"And I have you to thank for it, Jun," Naomi said. "You were my inspiration, my hero..." She suddenly blushed. "In fact, I think I may have had a crush on you!"
Jun turned bright red and hid her face behind her hair.
"Y-you're spreading it on a little thick now," she stammered. "I'm glad I could help you, but-"
"I still do, actually," Naomi whispered, and pressed her lips softly against Jun's.
