A/N: This is a birthday present for my friend, who is a Wicked fan like me. Basically, this is my idea of what happened after Elphaba dies. R&R. Enjoy

No One Mourns The Wicked

"She's dead! The Wicked Witch is dead!" the Ozians rejoiced. Finally the Wicked was gone. Thank goodness. However, there is one person who isn't glad about it. Glinda sat in her room, thinking about what had happened1. Tears ran down her face as she replayed Elphie closing the curtain so she wouldn't see. But she already knew what would happen. They both knew what would happen in the end. Still, it just made the pain worse.

Glinda knew she could've done something to stop it. But what good would it have done. I still lost my best friend, she thought to herself. Looking out her window, she saw the people celebrate.

"No one mourns the wicked..." she said. "No one, but me. I mourn the wicked." She heard a knock at her door. Trying to sound cheerful she said, "Who is it?"

"It's me."

"Oh, Tin man. Come in." The door opened and he walked inside. He looked up at her, a somewhat worried expression on his face.

"Ms. Glinda, why aren't you down there celebrating? I would've thought you'd be happy."

"I wish I was." She trusted him enough to say that. "But, alas, I am not."

"Why?"

"Because, she was my best friend."

"The Wicked Witch?"

"She wasn't Wicked!"

The Tin man looked shocked. Glinda rarely lost her temper.

"Sorry, Ms. Glinda. But what do you mean she wasn't Wicked? The Wizard told us..."

"A bunch of lies. All Elphie wanted to do was make good. He wanted to hurt the animals. But she wouldn't help him, so he called her Wicked." The tears came back. All at once they streamed down her face onto the floor.

"Tin man, you must never tell anyone what I just told you. Elphie promised me not to clear her name. And I want to hold onto that promise."

"I shall never tell a living soul, Ms. Glinda."

Glinda smiled, for the first time that day. "Thank you Tin man. I truly appreciate it."

"Oh, anything for you Ms. Glinda."

And with that he left. Peering out the window, Glinda could still see the people celebrate. Well, to them, I guess it would be cause for celebration. But I'll stay up here.

"Who can say...if I've been changed...for the better?" After she sang that, she swore she heard Elphaba's voice reply. But because I knew you...I have been changed... for good...
