Authors note: Hi! This is my first fanfic, a little drabble that came into my head. I do feel sorry for Harry that it took so long for him a Ginny to be together. I welcome both criticism and good feedback.

disclaimer: I just use J.K. Rowling's characters for inspiration, she is a goddess and such an amazing person, I owe her lots.

Finally the war was over. Everybody had retrieved to the great hall. Some people began to rebuild the school while others grieved peacefully: everyone understood and respected the pain people were going through. With the quiet chatter that swamped around inside the Hall, bodies were soon retrieved from the rubble and brought back up to rest in peace upon the tables. Harry, Ron and Hermione had re-entered the school and was soon greeted by happy, thanking faces of families and school friends. As Ron and Hermione went to sit down, hand in hand, Harry veered off to find Ginny; her family were still torn by Fred Weasley's death.

'Harry.' She breathed. Harry embraced her into a warming hug.

'I will explain Ginny, I promise. After everything is settled down, and when we can finally properly be together.' He whispered into her ear, stroking her smooth auburn hair. As their hug lingered on, no words were said: no words were needed. After a year of not seeing and talking to one another, Harry knew it was all worth it to finally be with her.

How was it?Thanks for reading.
