Hey y'all! So I really hope you guys enjoy this one-shot, the idea for it came from LuvEzriaLucian. This takes place during 4x06 when Aria was in the locker room, telling Conor off for spreading the rumour that she hooked up with him and now she's sitting on the stairs.
Ezra walked through the halls of Rosewood High, searching for Aria. He had given Conor a detention for calling her a slut, and now he couldn't find her anywhere. Ezra headed for the stairs, thinking that maybe she'd gone to her locker. Halfway down, he saw her sitting on a step, staring at her phone with tears streaming down her face. Ezra was about to ask if she was okay when he saw what was written on the small screen of her phone.
What's the prob? Am I not old enough for you?
Oblivious to Ezra's presence, Aria deleted the message and moved on to the next one.
Hey Aria, wanna pull an all-nighter?
Angrily, Aria deleted that message too and shoved her phone in her bag before bursting into tears and burying her head in her knees.
"Are you okay?" he asked quietly.
Aria didn't respond. Instead, she just turned her head away so she was staring at the staircase. Ezra walked around and stood right in front of her.
"Aria, those guys are jerks. Don't listen to them."
"Well, they're not wrong!" Aria said angrily. "You are my teacher, and we did..." she just shook her head, not wanting to finish the sentence.
"That doesn't make you a slut! Besides, I wasn't your teacher when we started our relationship." Ezra pointed out.
"Yeah, but we continued it while you were my teacher!" she shot back. "Ezra, please just leave me alone."
"No." Ezra said, shaking his head. "You're upset and I'm not leaving."
"Please, just go away!" Aria yelled and her voice echoed through the empty stairwell. "You can't be the guy that makes everything okay Ezra! That's not your job anymore."
"I don't care! Just because we're not together anymore doesn't mean I don't care about you!" Ezra said, exasperated. "Aria, please stop trying to push me away, all I want to do is be there for you, if not as a friend, then just someone who cares about you."
Aria sighed but didn't say anything. Ezra took that as a sign to continue.
"Aria, Conor's an idiot. And so are the people that believe him, and especially the people that sent those texts."
Aria looked up at him. "You were reading my texts over my shoulder?"
"That's not the point." Ezra said. "The point is that the people that wrote them are stupid and they're just trying to get you down."
"Well, it's working." Aria muttered under her breath, returning her gaze to the stairs.
"That's the thing! If you show them that it bothers you, they'll keep going. You need to walk around with your head held high and just brush off their stupid remarks. Ezra paused before adding"Aria, it's not a crime to fall in love."
Aria looked into his brown eyes that were filled with warmth and concern. "You're right. They don't know anything about our relationship and they can't make me regret falling in love." With that, she stood up and dusted off her jeans before heading down the stairs. Halfway down, she stopped at turned around. "Thank you. I really needed that."
Ezra smiled. "Aria, I'll always be here for you."
Aria smiled back before she turned around and headed to her next class, her head held high, a big smile on her face.
So I know this is pretty short but I hope you all liked this, let me know what you think in the reviews. :)
P.S: Is anyone else upset that Tattiana Maslany didn't get nominated for an Emmy for Orphan Black? She totally deserves one!
