"How many times do we have to kill you until you stay dead?!"
"Sorry Pitty, I must not have gotten the memo. Anyway, tootles!"
The lord of the underworld disappeared into the massive portal he had created to who knows where.
"Lady Palutena!" Pit screamed, almost drowned out by the sheer amount of chaos around them. He ran to her side.
"Pit, come on we have to go!" his darker self said.
"But what about Lady Palutena?"
"Go! I'll take care of her," Viridi promised.
Pit nodded, and just as he was about to about to leave, Lady Palutena stirred.
"Pit… wait. Here take this, both of you," she said as energy flowed out of her and into Pit and his alter-ego. Whatever she did, it must have completely exhausted what little energy she had left. She passed out in Viridi's arms.
"Pit!" Dark Pit's voice was urgent now; the portal was closing, and fast.
With one final look back, Pit ran and jumped into the portal, Pitto following.
Hm, interesting. Dark Pit -who had landed on a tall roof- thought to himself, referring to a sign. It read: WELCOME TO GOTHAM CITY.
"Gotham, huh? Now where could Hades have-" He began but was interrupted by a very high pitched and annoying scream.
"My wings! My wings! What happened to them?" Pit wailed. "Oh no. This is not good. This is not good at all!" And with he started franticly pacing back and forward.
Dark Pit sighed to himself. Why me? He asked himself. "You idiot. Stop whining and look at me," in which Pit did so. "Remember when Lady Palutena said she had something to give us?" Pit nodded.
"Well, what do you think it was?" he asked. To answer his own question, he suddenly grew wings. And not the tiny ones he had before, but full grown angel's wings.
"Woah! How'd you do that?" Pit asked awe-struck.
"You just need to close your eyes, and believe." Dark Pit said sarcastically.
"Oooohh…" said Pit in understanding. He followed his clone's 'instructions' and he then grew wings as well.
"Now back to the matter at hand. Hades must be-" but he didn't finish because the certain angel he was talking to wasn't there anymore.
"Oh wow, this is so cool! I'm actually flying- by myself!" came Pit's voice from above.
Dark Pit rolled his eyes, and then flew up next to the ecstatic boy.
"Hello, can we please stay focused here? Or do you want to see this world end up like ours?"
If DP wanted to get Pit's attention, he got it. They both floated back to the ground. Although he'd never admit it, Dark Pit was pretty ecstatic himself about getting his power of flight back. He didn't mean to put a damper on Pit's joy (not that much, anyway), but priorities needed to be set. Their world was overrun by underworld troops, so they had to stop Hades at all costs.
'Sorry, right. I'm totally focused now," Pit said sheepishly.
'Okay so, back to why we're here," He started.
"I was just about to ask the same thing." The voice belonged to a kid in a red costume, and a domino mask hid his eyes.
