Intangible Existence

Sally Malik could admit that being a ghost had some perks. But it was a lonely intangible existence. After a year of living with her roommates, Josh, a werewolf, and Aidan, a vampire, it became glaringly obvious that Sally could never have what she wanted.

Yes, all three if them were monsters. They were the bumps in the night. The things people feared, but didn't really believe in. Metaphors for the real problems in their lives. So yes, they were monsters and they supposedly didn't exist. But they did.

And while Aidan and Josh were trying- somewhat unsuccessfully- to move forward with their lives, able to fall in love, able to touch. Sally was doing little more than existing. And she was beginning to fall. And she was ready to leave.

A reaper has come for her. Part of her could not come to terms with the fact that she really would not be here anymore. The other part knew it was for the best.

She paced the entire downstairs as she tried to put into words what she wanted her last words to her best friends to be. She wanted to tell Josh that he was the sweetest most neurotic person she ever had the pleasure to know, and that she loved him. She wanted to tell Aidan to quit being so stoic all the damn time, and that he made her feel safe. She wanted to tell him that she not only loved him, but was in love with him.

That was a secret she would never tell, even if she was about to be shredded. What good would it accomplish? He could never feel the same. They couldn't even touch each other. And then of course there was Suren. The beautiful vampire princess that Aidan loved passionately. No, it just wouldn't do to admit these feelings. Aidan was her friend and that's what he would remain.

When she heard the front door open she was ready. She was going to tell her boys that she was being shredded. She was leaving them.

But when she saw them they were a mess and she couldn't add one more thing to their laundry list of problems.

She wasn't going to leave them. She couldn't leave them like this.

She was going to fight.

The End

AN: So this is just a drabble that I wrote awhile ago and decided to post because this fandom does not get enough love. I love Sally and Aidan and do plan to write more stories about them. They probably will not be like this. I'm working on my own personal cannon for this couple so I will mostly be writing them as AU's.

AN: For those of you reading V is for Vampire, I am working on W now. I am still working out some kinks and then the damn thing keeps getting longer! For my one-shot story for my 100th reviewer for V, I am working on this and I am sorry that it is taking me forever.

Disclaimer. I do not own them. I am simply borrowing them for my sick obsession

Review = Love :)
