A/N:

So, this is a story I made before B/D came out. I'm not sure how I'm gonna keep writing it, but I really liked the first chap. Tell me what you think, leave a review please. 3

Their story, I knew very well. I've heard it so many times and I was glad to hear them again and again. All the things they went through to be together. Werewolves, vampires, humans. My favorite love story. Still having my mortal emotions made me appreciate their love even more. Truth be told though, I was jealous. Ten years have gone by and still have I not found the one for me. It was slightly depressing.

Today was my first day going to Forks High School. I was nervous, but Bella and Edward said I'd be fine. I believed them. I wasn't comfortable driving yet, so Edward offered to drive me in his shiny Volvo that I loved so much. Bella was still sleeping by the time I was ready to leave, so Edward had no problem with driving me.

"You coming?" I heard from my door frame, the velvety voice ringing through my ears. I turned to the man and smiled.

"Yes Edward," I answered as I grabbed my black bag. I turned to my room and glanced over everything. The full size bed was in the corner of the room, next to the windows. Then I had my nightstand that sat next to the bed with a blue laptop and then my stereo system was by the opposite wall. Artwork and poetry covered the empty spaces of my walls as well as my four drawer dresser did too. It was big for a four drawer dresser.

Glancing once again as if I were to never see my room again, Edward cleared his throat loudly to grab my attention back to reality. I finally left with him down the stairs and almost to the door before Alice blocked it. I looked up to see Edward's eyes narrow at her as she smiled, her hands hidden behind her back. I could only giggle to see how Edward sighed impatiently.

"Alice," he said, a hint of annoyance in his tone. She completely ignored him as she walked up to me and placed something in my short black hair, magenta highlights in my bangs and on the ends of the rest of my hair.

"Ok, you can go now." She said moving over so the door wasn't blocked anymore. Edward let out another sigh as we left the house and got into his Volvo. The trip to school wasn't long thanks to his driving and it was also quiet besides the hum of the engine. I'm sure by now though, Edward could tell I was nervous. I didn't show it, but I thought it. How I wish I could have gotten Jasper to calm my nerves before leaving.

"Don't worry." I heard him say as we reached the school. I let out a long sigh as he pulled up to the entrance of the school and I opened the door. "Just so you know, there will be people wondering about you. I can already hear the flooding thoughts." He warned me. I rolled my eyes as I grabbed my bag and stepped out of the car. And what he said about people wondering, he was right. I could see lots of eyes and heads turned in my direction. Maybe they recognized Edward's car…Maybe that's why they're looking,I thought to myself, trying to advert my nervousness.

"Hey," His voice again brought me out of my trance and looked back down to him. He held his hand out with a silver cell phone in it and I took it gratefully. "Only in case you need to come home early," He said. He then flashed me his trademark smile, the one that was crooked. I couldn't help but smile in return.

"So, I'm a junior, right?" I asked, wanting to make sure I knew what grade I was supposed to be in. He nodded his head. "Ok, bye." I closed the door and turned to my new prison. Edward left and I was alone with the entire student body. Outside, I would be fine, but inside, I don't even want to think of.Alright. Get your head in the game and dazzle the humans. I took a breath and then started walking for the entrance. As I was about to open the door, someone had already opened it for me. I smiled at the unsuspecting victim and walked inside. I looked around at the new surroundings. It wasn't all that big. The walls were a creamy color, something to brighten the room, probably an escape from the gloom of the rain from outside, which happened to be my favorite kind of gloom. I laughed at myself quietly, but not quietly enough I guess. It caused more people to turn their heads and look at me. If I could, I would have blushed a deep red.

Finally, everyone went back to what they were normally doing except one. It was a boy, possibly a year older then my appearance and was very handsome looking. Dark brown hair to the point where it looked black, pulled into a small pony tail, tan skin, tall, and bright green eyes. His eyes captivated me which shouldn't have happened. I was the dazzler, not the dazzled. A moment went by and I couldn't take it anymore. I ripped my gaze away from his and walked to the Front Office.

The inside was small, but it didn't matter to me. I walked up to the receptionist lady and leaned against the counter.

"How can I help you?" She asked politely.

"I need my schedule. I'm sure my older brother called in a few days ago to let you know I was transferring here." I told her. She placed her hand under her chin for a moment and nodded her head.

"Ah, you must be Edward Cullen's little sister." She seemed to pleased to have said his name. It annoyed me, but I smiled and nodded. "Alright then, here's your schedule and have all your teachers sign this paper." I took the slips from her hand and began to leave. There he was again though, following me like I was his prey. Wasn't that my job? His eyes captivated mine once again and I became upset with myself for such foolishness, but I smiled. If he's gonna act like a puppy following its master, I might as well take advantage of it, not caring what Edward would say. So, I walked up to him.

"Can you maybe help me? I don't know where any of these classes are," I said as innocently as I could. The boy seemed to have snapped out of a trance after I spoke and smiled back to me.

"Uh, yeah." His voice was alarming to me. It wasn't deep, but it was deep enough to ring through my ears and send a shiver up my spine. It was almost as velvety like Edward's, but softer. My smile remained without a fault as I looked at him. I gave him my schedule to look over.

"Most of these classes, I have. All except for English and History." A big grin rested on his face as he handed the paper back. "I'm guessing you want an escort?" It sounded as though he was trying to sound charming. I wouldn't let him get his satisfaction though, as tempting as it was.

"It would be helpful," I said in a calm tone. It seems that I really didn't have to worry. Being around Edward to long, and I'm fine I guess. I'll have to thank him later.

"My name is Damian Tyler by the way." In an instant, he took my hand and kissed the back of it. Because I was as cold as stone, I thought he would have retreated from touching my hand, but his hand was very, very warm. He must not have felt how cold I was. I found this strange.

Damian led me out of the office and we headed to English. On the way, people just stared and a few tried to strike up conversations. Damian allowed little as he was the one talking to me the whole way there. I didn't say much though which I think upset him, seeing how hard he was trying to find things that would make me give my opinions.

Arriving to English, Damian said goodbye and I walked in and I went directly to the teacher. He just looked at me and I smiled as I handed him my paper he had to sign.

"Ah, so you're the new student." He assumed. I couldn't help but laugh to myself.

"Yes." I replied. He nodded and took the paper then quickly signed it and handed it back to me.

"Take a seat." I turned away from him and looked at the students who were already seated and noticed the spot that was empty besides another boy. Sandy colored hair and hazy blue eyes. He grinned as I walked up to him and placed my bag on the floor and sat down in the chair.

"Hey, you're that new girl." He said. I rolled my eyes and smiled.

"Yes, I am." A simply reply was all I gave him, knowing how much it would make him fidget and wonder. English began though so he couldn't talk. But he was very persistent. A piece of paper was slid under my hand and I looked at it.

What's your name? His hand writing was somewhat sloppy but I could still read it. I supposed I would be polite and respond to this note.

Valora Cullen. I actually wanted to see his reaction when he read my name but I was to busy looking at the difference between our writing and laughed quietly. My writing was a mix between cursive and print. Not as elegant as Edward's handwriting but still elegant to me. So, I passed the note back to him quickly and went back to paying attention to what the teacher was saying. I glanced at him though and I saw his eyes widen, just a bit but then they went back to normal. He wrote something down and handed it back to me.

Brandon Smith. Surprised to see a Cullen here again. I felt insulted for some reason. I paid no mind to it though as I didn't pass the not back to him. He seemed to have been waiting, but I seemed to have disappointed him. I realized I was doing it a lot this morning. I smiled.

The hour finally ended and I was extremely happy to have gotten away from Brandon. Instead, I'd just run into someone more troublesome to me.

"Hey!" I heard, shouted from across the hall. It was him again and I felt as though I was going to blush. Again, I was glad for some benefits to being the undead. Damian pushed through the crowd of kids and stopped in front of me and smiled. "So, how was your first class?" He asked.

"Persistently boring," I told him. He laughed but then seemed as though he had remembered something.

"You know, I never got your name," He said. I smiled and held my books in my hands.

"Valora Cullen." I replied. The look on his face was not one that I had wanted to have seen. A flash of panic streaked through his captivating green eyes and I soon found myself worrying what he had thought. I wished desperately for Edward's mind reading ability to figure out what this boy was thinking. His lips formed a frown, but the corners of his lips curved upward again into a smile.

"Well, Valora, next class is Geometry." He seemed to be acting as if he was fine, but I could feel his doubt and worry. We walked side by side to math with a little space in between us that I put there. He tried walking close to me but I always kept our distance. More people gazed at us as we walked by and we ended up going across the school almost to get to our math class. The walk didn't bother me, but the way Damian became silent did. Why did I care? I asked myself. He opened the door for me and I walked inside. There was barely anyone in this class, but there was still time left before class had started. He brushed passed me silently, his arm brushing up against mine and I could almost see him glance at me as he headed toward the back of the class. I followed naturally and sat on the right side of him, putting me all the way in the corner. I stared forward towards the white board when I could finally feel someone's gaze upon me. I turned and I wasn't surprised to see it was Damian. He looked as if he were trying to figure out what he wanted to say, or ask. His eyes clearly held many questions.

"So…Do you mind if I call you Val?" He asked casually as he propped his head up with his hand, his arm on his desk.

"I guess I don't mind," I replied, my voice silky smooth. I smiled sincerely at him and I could see he grinned.

"You have a very pretty smile." He complimented. It took me by a small surprise, even though I knew what I did to the human males. This must be one special human, to take me by surprise like he did. I regained my composure in a matter of seconds.

"Thank you." Class started, which ended our conversation. The teacher walked in along with many of the students and everyone took their seat, glancing towards me on the way. Their gazes didn't affect me though, so I didn't feel uncomfortable. Thank goodness, I thought to myself. The teacher was about to start teaching until he noticed me in the corner. He looked at me with an unsure look.

"And you are?" he asked. It seemed to have given the other students reason enough to turn and look at me again. I sighed.

"Valora Cullen, I'm a new student." I replied politely, much to Edward's constant complaining how I never respected anyone when I really did. So, I wanted to prove him wrong, even when I didn't want (or have) to. The teacher raised his eyebrow and nodded his head slightly.

"Alright…" So, he began again with the math lesson and I kept up easily. It made me smile though when Damian tried to ask if I needed any help with the lesson. I shook my head.

"Man, you seem pretty smart," He said quietly, surprising enough to hear for his tone of voice.

"It's all about the people you know and the tutors you have at your leisure." Damian looked up to me with confusion in his eyes. I smiled. "My family of course," I replied, clearing up one of his questions. His eyes still held more but he didn't ask any of them. He went back to doing his math instead.

Lunch time came around finally and he was questioning me up a storm! The strange thing though, he didn't ask any questions that had anything to do with my family. He seemed happy to hear me actually reply with more detail as we got our lunches and sat down at a table by the windows. I was really hoping I could go on throughout lunch without him asking why I wasn't eating. Vampires don't eat, and I surely didn't want to end up having to go through the process of getting rid of the food in my stomach once I ate something. No, not for me.

"Val?" My head snapped in his direction as it would seem that I had somehow dazed off in his conversation and smiled apologetically.

"Sorry, you were saying?" I said, urging him to continue on his prattle about something that had to do with… something I wasn't paying attention to obviously.

"I was saying that we should hang out on Saturday." Well, that was an unexpected turn. I shook my head.

"Sorry, I can't." I replied, hoping he wouldn't pry. Why on earth would that happen though?

"Why not?" He seemed upset at my response. Anger resided in his tone and he looked at me sternly with his green eyes. I had to close mine and leaned my elbow on the table, resting my head in my hand.

"Family stuff. They decided we were going camping this weekend, so I can't get out of it." I replied smoothly, ignoring how he seemed to sigh in frustration. We were all due for a hunt in our hunting range to get rid of our hunger. Our eyes were a dark gold, mine were the furthest from being black though. As Bella would describe it (like she did yesterday) my eyes were a golden honey.

"Can't you sneak away or something?" He questioned, sounding more irritated. I was surprised.

"No." With that, I stood up, grabbed my tray of uneaten food and threw it away and headed off to my next class which was about to start in a few minutes. I heard behind me chairs screeching against the tile and feet following behind me.

"Valora!!" I didn't stop to the voice, I just kept walking. Next class was History, so I didn't have to deal with him during the class. Thank goodness. Now, to find someone to take me there besides lover boy behind me.

"Valora!" This time his voice was closer and I was so sure I could have gotten away from him quickly, but I guess I was wrong. I felt a hand grip onto my arm and turn me around. My eyes narrowed as I stared at Damian, upset and angry. Whatever he was about to say, it looked as if he had completely forgotten what it was. He seemed shock because of the look I had on my face. I hated when people took me for granted and think they can get whatever they want. He let go of my arm and it felt as though he had burned me, the feeling as though his hand was still gripped around my arm. I went back to what I was doing and left him, shocked and hurt.
