I think is no longer a secret that the sixth season is one of my favorites. I just love to watch it again and again and imagine all these little moments that we don't see on screen. Set between the end of 6x22 but before the 6x23.

I apologize for any mistakes.

I don't own Bones. *sigh*

He opens his eyes as he feels the first rays of sun hitting his face.

Despite that, he can hear raindrops hitting his window, probably the remains from the rain of last night.

He suspects it's around seven o'clock. But, in order to confirm that, he needs to move, and that's something that he is not very inclined to do right now.

Staring at the ceiling, he silently prays that this morning remains calm like this, with no cases, no dead bodies, with nothing to disturb this peace.

He takes a long and deep breath, in order to put his thoughts together.

He can honestly say that he's been through a lot these last few months. His return from Afghanistan in order to help his oldest friend, Hannah coming with him, Hannah living with him, his proposal and their break up. Broadsky, the death of the british squintern.

And, if that's not enough, there's…

"What are you doing up so early?"

He turned his head to the right, to (in his opinion) the most beautiful sight he's even seen.

Her lazy blue eyes were staring at him, and the ghost of a smile is on her lips.

He tightens his arm around her and he knows that he's smiling too.

"I'm just… Thinking, you know? About everything that happened with me… With…"

"Us?"

He looks straight into her eyes before answering, "Yes."

He must have said the wrong thing, because the next moment she is with her body slightly away from him, staring at him like he is human remains and he can't help but feel they're back to their first year as partners.

"Do you regret what happened between us?"

"What?" He jumps in his bed and with his arms, holds her oh so tight that's he's afraid he might crush her. "No, of course not! Do you?"

"No!" She puts her hand on his shoulder to look at him. "I just thought that you did, because you were thinking abou-"

"Bones, I wanted this for God knows how long, do you really think I'll regret it now?"

She smiles as she rest her forehead on his.

"I'm sorry I fell asleep last night. I was so tired…"

Yeah, he remembers it clearly. After he arrested Broadsky, they decided to have dinner in his house and, before the food arrived, she had fallen asleep in his bed.

He lays back down again, bringing her with him. "Nah, we had busy days. I was pretty tired too."

She can feel his hand going up and down her spine. "Booth?"

"Hm?"

She looks to his window as she asks, "Are we really doing this?"

His smile is bigger now and he's pretty sure that she can hears his heart beat a little faster. "Yeah, we are."

He rolls her over and positioned himself on top of her.

They have a lot to talk about, he knows that. And not only that, he wants to do everything right this time. There can be no mistakes when it comes to her, to them.

"I know we already made love once, and we're probably gonna do that again, but I want to take you on a date, you know?" As he looks at her, all she can see in his brown eyes are sincerity, worship and… "And you can come with whatever anthropological crap to justified this need, but I am going to do this."

She laughing as she takes his shirt off and throws it somewhere in his bedroom.

"Are you okay with that?"

She kisses him for a moment before answering, "Yes."

The sun is gone now and the rain still falling outside and someone must have heard his prayers because they stayed in his apartment all day.

"Let the rain fall, let the rain fall.
To the day's new,
And all that's left is just me and you."
