Blind
Written by Tenchi Kai, who doesn't own FullMetal Alchemist at all. I'm not getting paid for this, I'm just borrowing.
"So, more stories tonight, Ed?" A soft male voice spoke, trying to break the silence that surrounded the room.
"I was completely blind, you know." Ed spoke with eyes fixed out the window to the cloudless sky again. "I didn't even call it home."
The blond Al pondered on this, and even though he didn't really believe Ed's stories (would you?), he could not imagine - nor did he want to - having to leave his world and never being able to return. He was merely joking with Ed, of course, but his golden eyes looked so hopeless. He watched as Ed gazed out that window with that face that made his insides twitch in desperation. Ed needed cheering up, but he was never the right person for the job. Ever.
This Al (that wasn't his brother, he had to keep reminding himself) just didn't know, Ed decided. He was blind, the way Ed was before he was thrown into this new world. The worst part about this whole new world was that he couldn't make people believe him about the places he had been, the things he had seen. But, most of all, he wanted to teach this Al that he should be thankful for everything he has that isn't part of a dream.
Ed sighed again, knowing only a few things: one, you never know what you've got until its gone; two, he should have visited home (you know, the place they burned down) more often; three, eventually, he was going to have to figure out who he missed the most, because at this point he even missed Mustang.
Ed heard footsteps leaving the room, and mentally cursed himself a few moments later. Was he really enjoying being alone?

A/N : Yes, it's a re-post sorta. I was planning on doing a series of oneshots thing, and it didn't work out. But I saved this one, because I honestly loved it.
