Over Time

E/O Challenge - My birthday challenge! Lost and Glade, double drabble featuring Cas!

Thanks to all who participated in this challenge as well as for reading.

(It also seems I'm a touch late to my own party)

Disclaimer: Oh, if only.

Castiel stood silent. Waiting. The passage of time didn't bother him; he was ever patient as remained stationary in the center of the small, moonlit glade. The surrounding energies of the trees and the plants and the small creatures that inhabited the area reached out and brushed lightly against his own soul and he hummed softly, contentedly.

Stretching out his Grace, he sought the brilliant orbs of fiery light as they raced through the acres of woodland. Eyes closed, he allowed his Grace to track their movements.

And he waited.

And then they appeared, moving like water over rocks and shadows away from sunlight.

The one with a sliver of his Grace tucked just behind the fragile soul appeared first and Castiel slowly swiveled his head to watch.

The wolf with chips of green ice for eyes stepped into the glade first, followed by the slightly larger and bulkier and lighter in colour wolf.

They stood before the angel. And waited.

"You two have been lost for a long time," the angel intoned.

Shaking, the two wolves stepped from their pelts, which had been bestown by a witch all those years ago.

"How long?" Dean rumbled.

"Fifty five years."
