A/N: I just felt I needed to write something more... fluffy... because, if any of you read my story "Sirius Orion Black" (well, what is written so far), you will know it's more than a little dark! So, I'm sitting down now to see what rubbish my brain makes for your entertainment... my sister, who thinks I'm weird enough as it is without knowing about my fanfics thinks I'm working on an English poetry project... but my project can wait ;)
Sirius opened an eye groggily. He checked what time it was. 4:18. Why? He thought to himself. Why did his brain not register the fact that it needed to sleep the night before an OWL? He wondered what woke him... He wasn't too hot or cold... His covers were over him... He hadn't had any nightmares about his parents in months, not since he moved out and started listening to music at night... That was it! It all clicked into place!
He had been suffering from nightmares that usually featured the horrible scenes of his childhood, his mother with her belt and buckle, his father making him do things he now knew were horrifically wrong, even the house elves featured! To try drowning out the memories, he had purchased a muggle MP3 player. It was a Sony model, as thin as any "I-pod" and it was a sleek, shiny black. He had also bought a small laptop, and using these two devices, which were more magic than anything at Hogwarts, he had put all sorts of music on the MP3. He had made a playlist with his favourite bands, mainly things that weren't what muggles called 'mainstream,' but more like My Chemical Romance, Black Veil Brides, Tokio Hotel, Panic! At The Disco... he supposed he like the lyrics of these songs as they were occasionally moody and dark and reflected his feelings when he remembered his childhood. He had been listening to the new playlist for a couple of nights, and each night he woke at regular intervals, only he hadn't realised they were regular.
Sirius was waking up when his playlist finished and the music stopped. The discovery left him stunned. He didn't think the power of music could be so strong! A few months listening to music in his sleep and he was hooked! It was like a drug! He had unknowingly pressed "play" again each night, until tonight, when he was lucid enough to piece together the pieces of the puzzle! He pressed play again and turned over. He was so tired he fell straight asleep.
In the morning Remus Lupin stood over his best friend Sirius Black, and grinned. It was the first time he had ever seen Sirius smiling in his sleep, and didn't want to ruin the moment. He was enjoying the view when his other best mate, James Potter, launched himself on top of Sirius, causing Sirius to jump and wake immediately.
"Come on Pads, we've got History of Magic today, and I want breakfast before failing!"
Sirius spent the exam doodling music notes on his papers.
A/N: Well, that didn't really turn out fluffy or cute or friend-y or... anything. Bleh. It really sucks, sorry But this is a true story, when I play short playlists at night, I wake up when it finishes every time it finishes. I only started listening to music at night two weeks ago (I used to be afraid my headphones would choke me :P ), and I only had 75 songs. Each night I woke up every three hours and had no idea why, until two nights ago :L Music is powerful! But yeah, please no hate for my bands listed, I enjoy them, you don't have to!
