I watch her as she argues with Dean, "So what am i supposed to do?" she asks when Dean tells her he's leaving with his crush Annie, to go dance. Its the last Yule ball of my last year at Hogwarts. "um...study?" answers Dean innocently. I feel a wave of anger as i watch Hermione's smile turns into a scowl. "Go then!" she says roughly turning away. Dean chuckles lightly and takes Annie to the dance floor. A tear runs down Hermione's face, I long to wipe it away. She plops down on an empty seat. I take this time to study her. Her silver robes slither down to the floor, making them look like liquid, setting at the perfect places, I blush to see all her curves. I grin happily noticing she's wearing the necklace i gave her for her birthday. Her chesnut hair had straightened, she had pulled half of them into a knot at the top of her head, the rest was let down free, curling as it wished. Dean again comes up to her and asks her to dance. Her face glows, i wish i were him, i wish she were there in my arms. I watch them as they slowly rotate to the music.
...That was the day,
That i showed you.
How it was the truth,
My love was true,
But you left me for her,
I was all alone,
Not a wizard could do,
anything to me...a maiden forlorn
Oh do me a favour, my love
One more time let me savour, my love
Your touch, your kiss
I love and miss
Oh do me a favour, my love
One more time let me savour, my love
The truth, the love, the name,
Is it the same?
I thought not...
She hates the song, "The lyrics have no feeling!"
she told me. I agreed and I still do, but then why does she look
at him this way? Why does she sway to the music as if it were the
only sound in the world? I watch as Madam. Delacour comes up and
asks for a dance. Dean discards Hermione as she was tissue paper.
He did not glance at her. I watch as she turns around and flees
the hall. I follow silently, around the rose bushes and under the
shadows. I watch as she tears the sleeves of her dress and
discards hercrinoline, making her skirts flow around her ankles
as she runs towards the lake. She crumbles to the ground, i watch
her forlorn...sitting there. I silently sit beside her. She
sniffs, "What are you doing here?". "You answer me
first," I say. "Oh...just...fresh air?" she says
knowing she is not fooling me. I frown, "Whats the
matter?". She looses it, she buries her head into my
shoulder. I mutter soothing words under my breath and stroke her
head. After she calms down a bit i ask her again, "What's
wrong?". She gulps and starts, "No one like's me!
Everyone thinks im an old bookwork, no fun... They all want me to
help them with their homework and all that...Do you think im
pretty?" she asks out of the blue. I have no hesitation
whatsoever in answering, "yes, Mione. your the prettiest
girl ive ever seen. I knew that before and after i asked Patil to
the ball."
"really?"
"really.." I say smiling. We hear Proffessor.
Dumbledore speaking, "Last dance everyone...Seventh years i
advise you to dance with your sweethearts sinse this is going to
be the last dance of your education in Hogwarts." I look
down at Hermione. She is at the verge of breaking into tears
again. I stand up and offer her my hand, she takes it. Instead of
heading back to the castle I say,
"Dance with me?"
She smiles and nods. We dance slowly to 'Are you the one?' by
Amanda Jeens. "Mione?" i say
uncertainly."Ron?" She looks up. Before i loose my
nerve, i bring my lips down and kiss her and to my surprise she
kisses me back. We break off when Dumbledore announces its time
to go up. We go up to the castle, step by step, second by second,
Hand in hand.
