A/N: So this was the result of my "Challenge" number 4. I wanted to write something about the Narnian grass. This idea hit me while I was watching LWW, the battle of Beruna. Please enjoy! :D
Disclaimer: Yadda, Yadda. I really don't own it.
As Edmund stepped off of the boat and onto the familiar soil of his kingdom, he smiled. It had been months since he had seen Narnia and the first thing he did was to let himself fall forward into the long, green grass that he had missed so much. For the longest time he had been away on a campaign against the giants in Ettinsmore. He had really missed his home and his family but now he found that he had missed something else even more. The grass. There had been no grass in Ettinsmore, only rock-covered soil. A person could hardly see anything for all the rocks. Now as Edmund once again looked at the low rolling hills and Cair Paravel, he knew that he was home.
He had been away from Narnia several times, seen all kinds of different grass, but Narnian grass was by far the best. You could run through it all day and never get a sticker. You could stand there bare feet and feel the soft blades gently caress your skin. You could lay in it all afternoon and never get itchy. All of that was well and good, but what really made it the best was its smell. He would never forget the smell of Narnian grass. It was a wonder. It smelled like normal grass only a hundred times sweeter and tangier at the same time. It smelled like long summer days of absolute joy. It smelled like hide-and-go-seek played in the spring of youth. It smelled like fun.
Edmund never wanted to leave Narnia again, he knew that he wouldn't be able to avoid it, but the thought was unbearable. When Edmund heard hoof beats coming up along side him he smiled at the centaur without opening his eyes. The feeling he was having right now was too wonderful to blaspheme with the thought of opening his eyes.
A/N: Please tell me what you think and say "oompa-loompa" in your review if you read my authors notes. Why? Because it popped into my head. If you have a challenge that you specifically want me to do next then please say so in your review! Thanks all! Love ya! :D
