He was dying. Spock was dying. I could see him on the other side of the glass. He slowly started to slide down, bracing himself on his knees. Spock was dying? I can't let him die. Never. I crouched down beside him, Spock? He looked up at me, and smiled. He was dying and he smiled! I put my hand to the glass, and small clawing marks, in a mock attempt to reach the other side. Spock pressed his head to the glass, and I did the same. I was the captain, I had to be strong, but god damn it, I will cry for a fallen friend. He wasn't just my friend, he was my T'hi'la. So I dropped the tough guy act, and tried to talk to him through the glass. I knew it was too thick, but I wanted to say it before he left me forever. I love you. I murmured. McCoy put his hand on my shoulder, as he pulled me away from the glass, I saw Spock's eyes close, and his arms drop to the floor. I took one final glace, and thought. Why couldn't I ever be there for you?
