Chapter 1:

The cool air was blowing by on a crisp monday morning. It was 7:50 AM and most people were up. The cars were hovering by large buildings where people went to work on bettering the already advanced society. The year was 2346 and many advancements had been made. There were now flying cars everywhere and people could utilize their phones just by thinking. Many renewable energy sources had been found and used for the betterment of the planet. That's nice and all, but that is getting a little off topic. There was a boy, about 5'10 tall, standing on a hill looking over Mt. Fuji. He was 15 years old and was now a freshman in high school. He had an athletic build, brown skin and a box haircut with a strip cut on right side. He had on normal jeans and a red t shirt with a tiger on it. The cold did not seem to be affecting him. Oh, did I forget to mention that this boy was blessed with the power of Hercules, giving him super strength. So this boy was walking up the hill towards what looked like a large seven story traditional Japanese building. It did not look like much besides its size, but the school had sent him and his family a mysterious letter giving him a full ride to go to the school a few days after the start of the school year. It was a week after school started and as he walked into the building, he did not want to be late. When he came inside the building, he realized that it was a lot bigger than it looked on the outside, the first floor was purely for the receptionist area, but the ceiling was made from reinforced glass, and when the boy looked up, he saw that each of the floors only had flooring around the outer part of the walls and there was nothing in the center. He walked up and was immediately greeted by the receptionist.

"Hello Mr. Dré Nakamoto," said the receptionist in a friendly voice, "An welcome to the school of gods, an institute filled with the most promising young ones like yourself."

"Thank you ma'am." said Dré with a polite smile.

"Ok now, first you must be taken into the test facility where you well be given your placement exam." said the lady with her smile unchanging.

Dré was ushered through a door that lead to a huge room. The walls were all gray except for a mirror in the back. There were plenty of rectangular slots and controls on the walls and ceiling of the room. A man walked in and looked at Dré with analyzing eyes. Dré felt like a mouse that was being scrutinized by a cat before it pounced. There was a name tag on his shirt that said Mr. Mato. He was very bulky and tall, about 6' 5" with dark hair and curving eyebrows. He walked up to Dré and introduced himself.

"Hi, my name is Mr. Mato as you already know and I am the examiner slash PE teacher." said the man shaking Dré's hand. His grip was fierce and it would normally crush a person's hand, but this was not normally.

"As you may know," he said while letting go of Dré's hand, "You have been given special powers by a deity. These deities are from mythology, but are in fact very real. We have found out through many years of studying that they are the higher messengers of God and give their powers to people that they believe can help in the mission of stopping evil. These gifted people are called Demigods and we take it as a duty to train them in their powers so that they can one day save the world."

"Yes sir I understand." said Dré.

"Now, I want you to tell me what deity has given you their powers so I can assign you a minimum rank." said Mr. Mato.

"Well I believe it is Hercules sir." said Dré as Mr. Mato looked at him.

"Kid, you can drop the act. I know that's not how you normally talk." said Mr. Mato as Dré relaxed.

"Sorry, my dad just said that if I get in trouble for being disrespectful he would whoop my ass." said Dré.

"Yeah ok, now you said that your deity is Hercules. So, that guarantees that you will be at least C class." said Mr. Mato as he realized that Dré was looking at him with a confused look.

"So the classes are as goes. D class is the lowest with the recipients of minor Deities' powers that influence a certain area in it. They usually don't engage in the big battles unless they are near their domains, so we teach them normal self defense. The C class students are a step above with minor deities that have more general powers. Take yourself for instance, you should have super strength from Hercules. Then there is the B class which consists of more powerful minor deities and less powerful major deities. Finally, A class consists of the people with the more powerful major deities' powers."

"Ok got it, so I could potentially be in either C class or B class." said Dré more as a statement.

"Correct." said Mr. Mato, but he did not realize the small smirk on Dré's lips.

"He doesn't know my true power." Thought Dré.

"Ok, now let's start with the test so that you can get ready for school. Also, there are number rankings inside each class and you will be ranked based on your performance. However, you can challenge other students to battles and move up to their ranking if you win. Also, if you challenge someone lower than you and lose to them, you move down to their rank. Trust me it has happened before." He said with a knowing smile.

"Alright cool, i'll trust you on that one." said Dré as he moved to a circle in the middle of the floor as he was told to.

"Alright, I'm going to drop some weight on you and see how much you can lift." said Mr. Mato as he walked up to a panel and flipped a switch as a giant circular weight dropped from the ceiling. Dré reached up one hand and stopped it clean in its tracks.

"Good, that's 5 tons, most people can't lift that much with just one hand, I see we're going to have to crank it up." Mr. Mato said as he flicked another switch and a two larger weights came down. Dré underestimated how much it actually weighed and had to put up both hands, but he was still able to lift the weight with relative ease.

"Ok good, that was 50 tons and you're getting close to the record for the freshman class for physical strength." said Mr. Mato with fascination.

"Whatever the record is, it's got nothin' on me." said Dré with a cocky grin.

"Ok then, 70 tons it is." said Mr. Mato as he flicked another switch. When the weight came down, Dré was still able to hold it with only slightly more strain.

"All you got?" He asked.

"No." said Mato as he took out his phone he touched the screen and all of the sudden the whole room filled with a woman's voice saying system override. He tapped the screen and a final weight came off of the ceiling down onto Dré. He struggled and there was much strain in his voice.

"That's my limit," he said as Mato took the weights off of him, "How much was it?"

Mr. Mato looked at his screen and was surprised at the number.

"100 tons," he said surprising both of them, "You are the physically strongest freshman tying with one of our seniors when he was a freshman."

"Nice, that's good to know." said Dré as Mr. Mato looked up from the screen.

"Ok so now I will have you do one more test before I send you to the waiting room to calculate your scores." said Mr. Mato as Dré smiled.

"That's fine. C'mon!" Yelled Dré as Mr. Mato flicked some more switches, the panels on the walls opened and robots came filing out in battle stance.

"Aw yeah, a good ol' street fight." said Dré.

The first two robots came up to Dré and they both sent a punch straight at his face. He ducked under their punches and walloped the first robot in the gut area. However, the robot did not go flying and only slid back a few inches.

"These guys are tough." said Dré with a scowl.

"Yeah most people aren't able to beat them, you would have to have some sort of power that can disrupt technology. This caught Dré's attention.

"Did he figure out my other power?" Thought Dré, but he discredited it and kept fighting.

The robots kept coming at him and even though he was occasionally able to send them flying, they just got back up and kept on coming at him. He eventually got worn out and Mr. Mato had to stop.

"Alright, you lasted longer than most people so that was good. I will be back with your results so just wait in the waiting area." said Mr. Mato as he left and Dré went to the waiting room.

45 minutes later, Mr. Mato came back to Dré with the test results.

"Alright kid, based on your score you've placed into B class at rank 12 out of 16. Pack your bags and let's go meet your class rep who is the number 1 of your class." He said as they got up and walked to the start of Dré's new life.

I hope you guys liked it, hopefully you will review and most of them will be positive. If you see Dré as similar to the typical black kid, that is kind of what I was going for, but at the same time something else. Also, this is in no way intended to be harmful and I will say that I myself am black so... Anyway, I hope people coming from my Naruto story will enjoy this while they are waiting for new Naruto chapters. I know you may not like this chapter, but keep reading, this was an introduction of sorts and the story gets better, so please keep reading.
