For nine years, I've lived on this island with my sensei or as I call him my father. Now it's time for me to show the world what a true Shinobi no Mono can do. I used to be Gaara no Sabaku. But that was then. My name is Ryo Uzumaki, and this is my story.

Ryo looked out from his perch on the island. He could see a ship in the distance. He could signal them but he did not intend to do so. If Hanzo had taught him one thing it was never take the easy way out when you could use it to make yourself stronger. Beside, he had everything he needed sealed on his back.

He took off practically flying through the trees towards the ship. Once he reached the beach, he ran across the water, jumped onto the side of the ship, and latched himself onto its side.

After having to spend a day in the rain on the side of one of the islands' sheer cliff faces, the side of the ship posed no challenge to him.

Some hours later

When the ship got in sight of land Ryo detached himself from the ship and sprinted to land. As he drew near he felt a dull throbbing sensation on his left hand. Looking at it he saw that the Uzumaki Clan Locator Seal had activated and was pointing westwards. Ryo altered his course and headed in the direction the seal was indicated.

Ryo moved at speeds that where a blur to anyone who was not a ninja. He began to sounds of combat. As he made his way onto the source of the fighting, a bridge half-finished bridge shrouded in fog, his mind quickly took stock of the situation.

The heavy mist that hung in the air around the bridge meant that Kiri was in involved. A pink haired girl most likely was here to protect an old man standing behind her; a genin he figured judging by her stance and demeanor.

The dome of ice on the bridge meant a member of the Yuki clan was involved. Ryo could vaguely two figures inside the dome.

Then Ryo used Chakra Echolocation to try to get a feel of the Jonins he could hear, and felt what he assumed to be a group of mercenaries near the pink haired girl and the old man. He could tell they had no Ninja training by the level of chakra that they produced; the Pink haired Genin had more than the lot of combined.

After debating in his mind if he should strike down the mercenaries from the shadows he decided that it would be better for him to let the Ninjas deal with them. He quickly went through a series of handseals. 'Great Breakthrough.' He thought as he unleashed his justu clearing the mist from off the bridge.

Author Note this chapter is just a place holder and before anyone gets off on the name Hanzo it is a nod to Hanzo Hattori the famous 16th century Shinobi no Mono from the Iga region of Japan. I also am not using the terms Shinobi and ninja to mean the same thing.
