"Leslie?" Jess hesitantly asked, silently moving towards the blond girl in a green dress. She was sitting in the middle of a green clearing making flower chains out of all the different types of plants scattered around her. As Jess called her name, Leslie looked up, her face open and smiling, sun streamed down in golden beams, lighting up Leslie and giving her a shining outline, like an angel.

"Hey, Jess" she whispered, the happiness in her voice startled Jess out of his rapt Leslie watching but as he gently joined her, settling down on the grass and being careful not the squash any of the beautiful coloured flowers, Jess couldn't help just watching the smooth concentration that flowed on her face as she wove the flowers and stalks perfectly.

They sat together in silence, her threading and weaving, him picking at strands of grass by his knees and watching his best friend.

"Am I dreaming?" the suddenly saddened boy asked abruptly.

Leslie laughed.

"Of course!" Jess could tell from the tone of her voice that she was amused "But that doesn't mean that this isn't real" Leslie stopped threading for a second and turned to look at her friend. Then she gently leaned over, tapping Jess on his chest.

"If nothing else" she murmured quietly, letting her hand rest over his heart "I'm always in here" smiling suddenly, she looked up at him. "Always"

Somewhere, a boy lay smiling in his sleep as he dreamed of his lost best friend and the adventures they had shared.

A light shined and shimmered from beside his bed. The faint image of a bond haired girl stood staring intently down at the sleeping boy. As the image faded, the girl leaned down and gently kissed the boys forehead, "Always" the word echoed around the dark room in a ghostly whisper and the blond girl disappeared, silently watching from the stars above.

The boy's smile grew.
